Quality Healthcare Staffing Dog Trainer PartTime in YONKERS, New York

Conduct individual and group training sessions focused on basic obedience, advanced commands, and behavior modification. Assess each dog's behavior and create customized training plans to address specific needs. Use reward-based training techniques to reinforce positive behavior. Monitor progress and adjust training strategies as needed. Assist in socialization efforts, ensuring dogs interact well with people and other animals. Address behavioral issues such as aggression, anxiety, and destructive tendencies. Train shelter staff and volunteers on proper dog handling and safety techniques. Assist with adoption events and collaborate with rescue organizations. Implement a three-tier difficulty rating system to optimize training plans. Maintain a safe and structured training environment at all times. Experience: Proven background in dog training, animal behavior, or related fields. Certification (Preferred): CPDT-KA, KPA-CTP, or other recognized dog training certifications. Knowledge: Strong understanding of dog body language, training tools, and behavioral psychology. Ability to handle dogs of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Excellent communication and teaching skills for working with staff and volunteers. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Schedule Flexibility: Availability for weekends and evenings when needed. Legal Requirements: Compliance with NYS labor laws and ability to provide necessary insurance coverage. Experience with advanced training techniques (e.g., agility, service dog training, behavior modification). Familiarity with different training tools and their proper use. Animal First Aid & CPR certification (a plus but not required).
