HeartShare Human Services of New York Maintenance Worker Foreman in Staten Island, New York
Staten Island Pre-Screening Event on Tuesday, March 25th from 10 AM - 2 PM which will be held at ICC Church located at 1501 Richmond Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10314.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of Position
In addition to the responsibilities below, performs all other duties as assigned.
Uses positive approaches when handling difficult situations. Remains flexible and adapts to change. Serves as role model for Maintenance Workers. Abides dress code. Always conducts self in a professional manner. Remains sensitive and responsive to cultural differences of program participants and staff. Participates in in-service trainings and on-site workshops as required for professional growth and development. Attends external trainings and workshops at direction of Maintenance Supervisor, Director of Facilities or VP. Represents the organization both within and outside of the work environment in a manner that promotes the mission, vision and values of the agency. Personally, adheres to organizational mission, vision and values, in addition to all other agency policies and procedures. Facilities Repairs, Service, and Compliance:
Qualifications
Minimum of 5-7 years of maintenance experience with increasing responsibilities, ideally in a nonprofit or healthcare setting. A valid driver's license is required. Thorough knowledge of Handyman Duties, basic plumbing, basic carpentry, basic electrical, building codes, knowledge of regulations, and safety standards for ADA, DEP, DOB, OPWDD, OFPC, etc. Demonstrated skills, with a track record of successfully overseeing job sites and fostering a positive work culture. Proficiency in utilizing automated facilities management systems, such as TheWorxHub, for work order tracking, preventive maintenance & asset management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Cost-effective solutions with high-quality outcomes. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach when interacting with individuals with developmental disabilities. Strong administrative & record keeping skills, with sufficient math skills to manage petty cash
