Guardian Life Senior HR Product Manager - Workday in Stamford, Connecticut

We are seeking a highly motivated leader for the position of Human Resources Product Manager (PM). In conjunction with and direct partnership with the HR leadership team, this role will play a significant part in developing the HR Technology strategy, functional architecture, design, product delivery process, and ongoing service delivery optimization of a suite of HR-related services for Guardian.

You will have broad knowledge of HR applications in the market and deep experience in all HR functionality and modules of Workday, Guardian’s HCM. In addition, you will be an expert in the design, optimization, and execution of end-to-end processes. You will combine your Workday knowledge and process design expertise to optimize business processes and create an exceptional employee experience.

Working closely with the HR Product Owner (PO), who is aligned with the Colleague Technology Experience team, the PM will coordinate product delivery by Product Owners (PO) in the HRIS and Business Technology Groups. You will

  • Act as an authority on the delivery of HR Product solutions. Combine expert-level proficiency in Workday with the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with key stakeholders to define a roadmap that aligns to business priorities.

  • Define and shape the overall architecture for Guardian’s HR products including modules such as Security, HCM Advanced Compensation, Benefits, Talent, Payroll, Absence, Reporting, Security, and Integrations. Keep leadership and key stakeholders informed of new Workday developments and other technical solutions and disseminate the information as necessary.

  • In collaboration with CoEs, IT, and Operational partners, create end to end business processes that develop and evolve operational processes to support the business strategy and create a superior colleague experience while leveraging all aspects of Workday.

  • Lead and/or participate in projects involving technical strategy, security, data integrity and all business processes. Work directly with HR, IT, and project teams to identify, analyze, design, test and implement new systems or improvements to existing systems and associated procedures.

  • In conjunction with CoE, IT, HR Operations, vendors, and testing resources, participate in test plan design and execution.

  • Work closely and collaboratively with CoE’s, IT, Finance, Payroll, and Legal to ensure that audit requirements are met, and risks are identified and mitigated.

  • Ensure operational compliance with government regulations and laws (such as ACA, HIPAA, DOL, Internal Revenue Code etc.)

  • Build and maintain partnerships across all aspects of HR, IT, and the overall Guardian organization.

  • Experience in Software Development and successful Application Delivery Lifecycles

  • Defining and supporting the building of desirable, feasible, viable, and sustainable products that meet customer needs over the product-market lifecycle

  • Solution Leader that collaborates with a wide range of people to identify and define customer needs, understand the Solution Context, and develop the Program Vision, Roadmap, and Features required to meet these needs

  • Collaborate with the leader of Agile Release Trains that delivers value through the Program Kanban Continuous Delivery Pipeline

  • Act as a Transformational Change Agent with sharp Agile focused Skill-sets coaching teams across the board.

You have

  • Bachelor's degree in a work-related field/discipline from an accredited college or university.

  • 10 years of progressively responsible and related work experience.

  • 10 years of progressive Workday experience encompassing hands on execution and architectural design and implementation. Proven track record in developing a strategic roadmap that aligns Workday functionality and business requirements.

  • 10 years of progressive experience in operationalizing the Employee Lifecycle, the HR Service Delivery Model, and delivering exceptional employee experience.

  • Ability to direct and manage the development and implementation of projects and processes for high impact programs and communications.

  • Ability to provide leadership, influence others and mediate/resolve complex problems and issues.

  • Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus.

Reporting Relationship

This position reports to the Head of HR Digital, Data & Optimization who reports to Guardian’s Chief Human Resources Officer.

Location /Travel

Hybrid role: 3 days in the office, 2 days WFH. Located in Hudson Yards, NYC or Stamford CT.

Travel – up to 15%

Salary Range:

$129,500.00 - $212,750.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
