Job overview and responsibilities

A day in the life of a United Airlines Inflight Instructor/Evaluator is dynamic and multi-faceted. The Inflight Services Training team provides the following outstanding training: Continuing Qualification, Aircraft Transition, Requalification, Customer Service, and other types of training as needed. The Instructor/Evaluator position will facilitate various curricula to flight attendants ensuring student needs are supported. The position will deliver flight attendant training to meet United’s operational needs while ensuring compliance with federal regulations and company policies and standards. You will have the ability to shape how our customers and co-workers feel about United.

  • Demonstrate our core4 standards (Safe, Caring, Dependable and Efficient) while delivering regulatory and service training curricula with lesson plans approved by the FAA and/or United

  • Conduct AQP Announced and Unannounced Line Check Evaluations and provide feedback to flight attendants and stakeholders

  • Complete Service Line Checks to collect data to drive improvement in our Net Promoter Score (NPS)

  • Conduct safety-related training events at flight attendant bases

  • Evaluate trainee/flight attendant performance in line with FAA and United standards

  • Ensure United core4 standards policy and procedure compliance is met

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to earn the United Airlines flight attendant qualification, and

  • Ability to successfully complete the United Airlines Inflight Training instructor program qualification

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience

  • Perform all duties and abilities required of a United flight attendant

  • Ability to repeatedly operate all aircraft door/window training devices and emergency equipment (including pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50 pounds)

  • Performing instructor duties which require standing, walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, squatting, kneeling, reaching, twisting, bending, and prolonged standing and walking

  • Ability to work week days, weekends and holidays, as required

  • Ability to work morning, day and nighttime hours

  • Strong working knowledge of LINK—eFAOM, Inflight Policies and Procedures Manual (IPPM), Content Locker, etc.

  • Excellent Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Emotional Intelligence (EI) skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to work both independently and in a team environment

  • Commitment to Working Together Guidelines and treating each other with dignity and respect

  • Ability to complete instructor qualification training and ongoing qualification maintenance requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree

  • AQP qualified instructor/evaluator

  • Experience with public speaking to small and large groups

  • Management experience

  • Teaching experience

  • Working knowledge of CFR Part 121 regulations, Advanced Qualification Programs, the Aircraft Operators Standard Security Program and United flight attendant responsibilities and procedures

The base pay range for this role is $64,885.00 to $88,440.00.

The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
