This Opportunity

WSP is looking for a Scheduler to join our Project Controls team in Newark, NJ.

Your Impact

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing and/or overseeing critical path method scheduling (via Primavera) to support client’s Program including design and construction aviation projects.

  • Manage and lead a team of schedulers and a team of contract managers in delivering proactively.

  • Oversee development and maintenance of internal project schedules, and analysis of project schedules against those submitted by contractors to ensure alignment with project / contract requirements and overall program needs while minimizing negative risks/exposure.

  • Lead and develop procedures to support sustainable implementation of all contract management activities including change order process.

  • Establish baseline schedule: summary and detailed review of baseline durations, logic, resources, costs, cost curves, resource histograms.

  • Review periodic CPM Updates, provide Primavera schedule comparison reports and detailed

  • Support facilitation of communication and collaboration among multiple project teams, functional teams and contractors across interdependent projects and contracts.

  • Perform time impact analyses (TIA) to determine the extent of the impacts of potential delays. Provide recommendations for schedule recovery. Recovery schedule reviews and perform what-if scenario analysis.

  • Assess and provide recommendations to resolve schedule, scope changes or delays to the Project Team and Executive Management.

  • Contribute to continuous process and reporting improvement efforts and operations support/training to enhance efficiencies.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering construction management, contract management, or related fields or related discipline or equivalent experience.

  • 7-10 years of professional experience in scheduling and five (5) years in contract management, and in managing staff.

  • 5+ years of experience in developing and managing project Schedules.

  • 5 years as people manager

  • 5 years Aviation field construction experience required

  • Experienced with critical path method analysis/technique with Primavera.

  • Change Order and Extension of Time analysis.

  • Experience working within large and challenging Client Programs with one or more project teams.

  • Effective reporting and communication skills.

  • Experience in preparing project reports and documentation.

  • Team player and Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Project Management (PMP, PMI-SP) or similar credentials.

  • Certification in CPCM or similar credentials.

  • Experience with scheduling and contract management for large-scale projects/contracts and multiple concurrent projects/contracts.
