Job Description

Our client is looking to hire a skilled Developer to their team who has strong experience in an Infrastructure environment. This team is currently responsible for Prudentials WebSphere platform which hosts Java applications. There are still a significant number of applications running on the platform, but Prudential is looking to move off of the platform for a number of reasons.

1) The licensing costs for WebSphere Application Server is expensive

2) The applications are running on on-prem virtual machines

3) Theyre looking to modernize the platform in general

The teams skills are a bit outdated. Prudential has adopted technical training enterprise wide, but some members arent adapting as quickly as others.

They need someone to join the team who has skills in Python, CI/CD, containerization, GIT, and any skills related to modern application development. Any skills in Java and/or Kubernetes would be great to have but are not mandatory. The right person for this position will have an eagerness to grow within the team long-term.

Skills and Requirements

Strong experience within modern application development

 Strong Python development skills

 Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines

 Understanding of containers and how they work in an infrastructure environment

 Experience with GIT Experience with Java

 Experience with Kubernetes null
