The Chief Investment Office manages $516 billion in assets and is responsible for asset/liability management, risk management, oversight and reporting on product investment margin and related capital markets hedging activities. CIO is primarily focused on the construction of well-diversified investment portfolios to protect the Companys invested capital and pricing margins. These portfolios consist of cash market securities and derivative instruments, the latter of which are used to hedge the insurance liabilities underwritten by the Company.
The individual will be part of the Global Portfolio Liquidity Management team of Global Hedge Management (GHM) within the Chief Investment Office. GHM is responsible for derivatives strategy and execution for all of Prudentials proprietary assets and collateral. The team utilizes its deep capital markets experience, risk management expertise and proprietary models to provide comprehensive hedging solutions, efficient trade execution, collateral management, and investment thought leadership.
This position will report to an Investment Vice President and provide critical, hands-on support for the General Accounts liquidity and collateral frameworks as well as research, design and implementation of collateral optimization strategies which will drive profitability across investment portfolios. In addition, the role will enhance management playbooks which inform funding decisions, and support analysis of contingent funding structures. This position will also provide the incumbent the opportunity to develop portfolio management skills, and related market and asset class knowledge.
The current employee work arrangement for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

The candidate will become part of a team that provides subject matter expertise to Enterprise-wide stakeholders, including Global Portfolio Management, Enterprise Risk Management, Finance & Actuarial Community, Treasurers Department, and PGIM. Specific expectations of this individual include, but are not limited to:
Provide critical support of the Enterprise-wide Collateral Management project by implementing new governance policies and improving cost matrices and scenarios to maximize collateral capacity, minimize impacts to the spread lending programs, and drive profitability
Manage ongoing enhancements and new releases in the Transcend collateral optimization tool
Run time-sensitive what-if analytics to identify collateral depletion points and capacity for internal and external structures
Perform time-sensitive analysis for high-impact requests from business partners, such as proforma impact analysis of large Enterprise transactions
Support intra-day funding decisions to advise business partners on necessary portfolio actions, including portfolio managers, trade desk, operations, PGIM, and Treasury
Drive profitability by tracking collateral optimization benefits / performance and support the development of yield enhancement strategies
Identify ways to amend Internal and External CSA criteria / haircuts to increase collateral capacity
Monitor collateral and liquidity resources / risks across various portfolios and legal entities
Data consolidation, manipulation, and visualization to prepare insights and recommendations for Enterprise Task Force, Committees, and other forums
Manage special projects on cross portfolio initiatives, such as analyzing new asset classes and investment strategies
What you'll need:
5-7 years of investment related experience is required
Bachelors Degree required
Strong quantitative and analytical skills, advanced Excel acumen required
The ideal candidate is motivated, confident, enjoys being challenged and works well individually and in a team-based environment.
Strong communication and collaboration skills required; as well ability to problem solve and explain solutions and outcomes (both oral and written)

Preferred candidates will have or working towards a CFA designation or MB

Background in the area(s) of Risk Management, Finance, Capital Management, Investment Management, Credit or Actuarial beneficial but not required
Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $125,000 to $140,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
