Position Summary:

The Digital Media Producer will create engaging video content for NJIT's platforms, such as social media, website landing pages, and campus digital displays. This role will focus on capturing, editing, and producing short-form video content to enhance NJIT's brand awareness and support recruitment efforts.

Essential Functions:

-Plan and execute video shoots for social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).

-Capture high-quality video footage using provided equipment..

-Edit video content for social media, website and digital displays including adding text overlays, music, and effects, using editing software.

-Create short-form video content, such as reels, TikToks, and stories, tailored to specific social media platforms.

-Assist in capturing and organizing video and photo assets for future use.

-Collaborate with the team to develop creative video concepts and storyboards.

-Assist with basic audio capture and editing.

-Stay up-to-date with current social media trends and video formats.

-Assist in the creation of engaging visual content for social media.

Prerequisite Qualifications:

-Associate's degree in Film, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).

-2-4 years of experience in videography and video editing (video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, and others).

-Understanding of videography and video editing principles.

-Familiarity with social media platforms and their video content requirements.

-Ability to operate video capture equipment from studio cameras, field camera setups and smartphones.

-Strong interest in creating engaging video content for social media.

-Strong organizational and communication skills.

-Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

-At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s Degree in Film, Media Studies, Communications or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).

-Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.

-Knowledge of graphic design principles.

-Understanding of the ever-changing social media trends and platforms.

-Experience with creating GIFs.

-A portfolio or examples of video work.
