WSP USA Aviation Project Engineer in Newark, New Jersey
This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for an Aviation Project Engineer for our Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) project . Be involved in the transformational EWR Airport Redevelopment Program with our Aviation PM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
Your Impact
Assist Design Manager in coordinating with multiple personnel including designers, contractors and other stakeholders to insure projects are completed within the stipulated time and allocated budget
Coordination of daily aspects of the project with internal and external stakeholders
Assists with contract administration & project scheduling
Provides information and responses to inquiries from contractors, tenants, EWRR stakeholders, consultants, and other regulatory agencies
Performs design and constructability reviews of projects
Assists with evaluation of change order requests, requests for information, and other change issues
Verifies and assists the PM in maintaining project files for all required administrative items including, but not limited to, submittals, RFIs, field changes and directives, and general correspondence
Ensures final project deliverables (As-Builts & O&M Manuals) meet project standards.
Assist with managing the design process to ensure adherence with all codes, stakeholder requirements and PANYNJ Design standards.
Proactively collaborate with design teams to ensure alignment of Program requirements and to communicate potential project risk.
Lead the early identification of project design goals and work with Project Managers to guide design to meet those goals.
Organize and oversee design and constructability reviews of several concurrent projects.
Provides risk management feedback on all assigned projects during design and into construction.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline.
3 to 5 years of relevant post education experience in the learned discipline.
Proficient knowledge of engineering design and practices.
Maturity in interaction and ability to operate self-sufficiently in the field.
Proven ability to perform/support in a management capacity.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Knowledgeable of current technology with ability to utilize it effectively on the projects.
Ability to manage concurrent processes and identify impacts projects may have on each other.
Preferred Qualifications:
Airport Experience
Engineering Degree, EIT
Background in design/construction of airport facilities or performing construction in a complex operational environment.
Experience in local municipalities, codes, federal and state regulations.

Compensation
Expected Salary: $82,400-$120,700
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
