Supervisor, Regulatory Compliance

About this opportunity...

The Regulatory Compliance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring Ross products comply with all federal, state, and local laws. The Regulatory Compliance team partners with Legal, Merchants, Vendors, Logistics, and testing labs to ensure timely and compliant document submissions, adapting processes to new regulations as needed.

The Supervisor focuses on CPSC regulatory requirements, particularly managing the CPSIA process to ensure document reviews are completed accurately. They will supervise a team of administrators and specialists, managing workload allocation, training, development and performance reviews.

The Supervisor supports projects related to policy changes. They will develop or improve processes and reports. They will identify and escalate potential issues that could impact the business or flow of goods, mitigating risk and ensuring product compliance.

Through reporting and analysis, the Supervisor will assess risk and validate process effectiveness. They will run system reports and manipulate data in Excel to generate improvement ideas and solutions. As processes are established, the supervisor will maintain SOPs and training materials for regulatory programs.

The base salary range for this role is $67,600 - $78,000. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

What you will do and what you will learn...

  • Responsible for management of 1-2 administrators and/or specialists; manage workload and resource allocations, set performance standards, hold associates to agreed-upon deadlines and provide constructive feedback and coaching. Responsible for performance management, career pathing, and development plans. Conduct full cycle of appraisal process.
  • Perform quality checks and performance evaluations on direct reports and provide updates and analysis back to Manager regarding errors and/or inefficiencies.
  • Manage product testing program with an emphasis on acting as liaison between testing labs and vendors.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional departments and outside vendors. Create and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Deliver reporting to support regulatory compliance processes. Understand various reports and utilize results to generate future ideas and solutions.
  • Operate as a subject matter expert in support of various compliance processes. Identify areas for improvements. Present ideas to management.
  • Update and/or maintain SOP's and training materials for regulatory programs and processes.

What you need to be successful...

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
  • 3-5 years proven work experience in a relevant field, experience in testing program management a plus
  • Knowledge of consumer goods testing methods and requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of merchandising systems, or ability to master them quickly
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Demonstrated decision-making ability
  • Strong analytical skills and good knowledge of MS Office
