Company: Spotify USA, Inc.Company HQ: 4 World Trade Center, 150 Greenwich Street, New York, NY 10007Job Location: Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed in any location in the U.S.Job Title: Software Engineer IIDUTIES: Create, maintain, and iterate on backend systems, services, and APIs for new and existing applications and features. Collaborate with squads across Spotify (including other engineers, product managers, and designers) to tackle interesting and exciting problems for delivering various podcast experiences and tooling worldwide. Perform technical discovery and compose technical documentation for suggested approaches with execution timelines and effort. Thoroughly test functionality and effectiveness of new software development. Meet and work with stakeholders to understand, document, and develop APIs and systems to meet their requirements. Respond and triage creator errors from our customer support team as they arise in a timely manner. Attend and actively participate in squad meetings and rituals. Participate in our on-call rotation and be available for emergency coverage. *Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed in any location in the U.S.JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field and three (3) years of experience in software development or a related role. Must have one (1) year of experience with: Developing, iterating upon, and maintaining scalable, distributed, high-volume services utilizing the following backend programming languages: Node.js and Java; Working with databases such as MySQL; Developing within a distributed microservice architecture and creating RESTful APIs; Researching, designing, and leading a team in executing new, high-quality, performant systems and services based on stakeholder requests and needs; Cloud platforms such as GCP and AWS; Importing and uploading audio and video files from third-party hosting platforms via RSS; Monitoring and diagnosing issues that arise via PagerDuty and Grafana; Working with engineers across various domains, stakeholders, product managers, and designers.SALARY: $143,499 to $215,249 / yearWORK SCHEDULE: 9am to 5pm, 40 hours a week.
