Job duties - Design and develop software for Traba systems (payments, notifications, infrastructure, distributed systems, mobile, etc.). Advise on software projects related to these areas. Own larger, more complex projects with longer time horizons and open-ended, difficult problems. Share expertise in areas outside of pure coding, including performance optimization, CI/CD/deployment, observability, cloud infra. Consider and make overarching recommendations to codebase or architecture beyond the projects at hand. Uphold and evangelize team standards on code quality, testing, and project management. Guide teammates as project lead and ensure project success. Actively explore product or industry beyond the current scope of development to ensure future success. Provide oversight and guidance of fellow engineers through code/design reviews. Act as a thought leader for the team in at least one technical area. Mentor and guide junior members and help them develop their technical expertise, decision making and communication. Act as a lead in talent evaluation on a recruiting front. Contribute to internal engineering endeavors such as team wide process improvements, tech talks/events/meetings, in house training sessions and other similar growth tasks. Consistently evangelize Traba externally in a way that tangibly turns into positive impact to the company, such as a highly qualified engineer applying to join or a customer asking to be connected to our growth team. Leverage outside networks to help solve problems. Be on call and provide timely technical support on multiple major components of the system and distribution of support to all other components of the system.
