NBC Universal Senior Producer, MSNBC The Weekend: Primetime - 6pm-9pm in New York, New York

Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('SpinCo') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

MSNBC is looking for a Senior Producer for The Weekend: Primetime based in NYC airing 6pm-9pm Saturday and Sunday.
The Senior Producer is responsible for creating, producing and supervising segments.
Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist in the supervision of the editorial vision of each day, including suggesting stories and guests for the show
Supervise and copy edit segment producers’ scripts
Coach and mentor show staff
Write and produce segments on occasion
Contribute ideas for planning process
Control room supervisor
Discuss day-of correspondent requests with desk
Work closely with producers on material for digital
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Must have at least 7 years of experience in live television (i.e. morning shows, cable shows, broadcast TV, etc)
Must have at least 3 years of control room experience preferred but not required
Desired Qualifications:
Possess ability to develop story ideas, research, and plan segments
Exceptional editorial skills: Ability to recognize stories with high potential for provocative, compelling television
Strong writing and teasing skills
Knowledge of current events, politics and pop culture
Strong time management skills

This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week

Salary range: $135,000 - $190,000, bonus eligible.
