Global Merchant Services (GMS) Marketing is dedicated to bringing buyers and sellers together and transforming how American Express is welcomed. GMS Marketing is responsible for partnering with GMS markets to drive profitable growth, accelerate Merchant acceptance and enhance the value of acceptance to Merchants and Card Members at scale. We focus on enhancing our relationships with millions of Merchants of all shapes and sizes, and our geographic purview includes many commerce hubs across the globe.

This position provides an opportunity to be at the center of one of the highest priorities for American Express and Global Merchant Services: driving Vibrant Acceptance by growing the number of merchants that actively accept American Express and ensuring they feel the value in acceptance every day.

This position sits on the U.S. Merchant Marketing team and is responsible for developing loyalty and product go-to-market strategies that target small, regional, national, and global merchants. We do this through multi-channel marketing strategies and through partnership with client managers in the field. This individual will own the U.S. Merchant Paid Media as well as a dedicated Email program. This role requires close collaboration and influencing with critical partners across the Amex Enterprise within Marketing, Client Management, Analytics and Marketing Operations, as well as several teams within the US Merchant Marketing organization. The ideal candidate must be able to operate in white space, creating impactful go-to-market strategies that showcase American Express value, drive growth, and increase engagement.

Responsibilities

Responsible for contacting clients with overdue accounts to secure the settlement of the account. Also they do preventive work to avoid future overdues with accounts that have a high exposure.

  • Own the end-to-end Merchant Paid Media strategy and execution across always-on Media & Enterprise-Wide Heat Moments, including ATL channels such as Programmatic, Search, and Social. Lead media creative development ensuring creative is communicating the value of American Express acceptance

  • Lead external media agency, working with a variety of agency stakeholders to lead media briefing, tactical plan development, media buying and planning, measurement, and finance

  • Partner with Analytics team to define media segmentation and targeting, and measure performance to optimize & evolve media strategies

  • Develop best-in-class, data-driven marketing strategies and communications across owned channels to engage merchants and drive ongoing acceptance across the merchant lifecycle

  • Partner with product teams to develop the strategy & execution plans for owned channel communications across the merchant lifecycle

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years Media Agency experience or experience managing paid media and marketing channels required

  • Digital media experience with a strong track record of defining success, including outlining KPIs and optimization levers required

  • Strong strategic and thought leadership skills with a passion for innovation and bringing fresh ideas to the table

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to independently move multiple projects forward in parallel

  • Proven analytical and strategic thinking skills as it relates to content development with the ability to leverage data to tell a compelling story.Strong attention to detail

  • Strong creative point of view; ability to clearly articulate creative feedback that ties to brand guidelines and business goals

  • Excellent partnership skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and functions

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to translate complex strategies & results into clear content and presentations.Executive presence and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of management

  • Comfort in white space, with proven ability to build actionable plans that drive learning & results

Qualifications

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
