DoorDash Senior Manager, Global Workplace Operations in New York, New York

You’ll be joining the Real Estate and Workplace Operations team at DoorDash which is part of the Finance Organization. The REWO team creates and operates spaces and environments that allow our employees to do their very best work. We are building and operating offices that are inclusive, inspirational and functional. This role is a leadership position that requires the ability to inspire and manage a geographical dispersed team while driving alignment around organizational goals. Success in this position involves delivering efficient, employee-focused workplace environments and requires a combination of operational expertise, strategic planning, strong vendor management and leadership skills.

  • Lead and manage a talented Workplace team that is insourced and outsourced across multiple geographies

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of offices globally to ensure consistency in operations, maintenance, and service delivery while addressing the unique needs of each location

  • Act as a role model by embodying and promoting DoorDash’s core values and principles, setting a high standard for all team members to follow

  • Define team objectives aligned with organizational and leadership goals and establish clear performance metrics

  • Create and implement processes, initiatives, and playbooks that align with global workplace strategies to enhance operational efficiency and support company objectives

  • Coordinate space allocation and planning to accommodate the organization’s evolving needs balancing functionality, employee experience, and cost considerations

  • Oversee the execution of office events to ensure alignment with company culture and objectives, while delivering engaging and impactful experiences

  • Work with XFN partners to ensure all facilities meet local regulations, safety standards, and company policies, requiring constant vigilance and adaptability to changing requirements

  • Partner with Global Operations Center on crisis scenarios (e.g., natural disasters, evacuations, protests, or pandemics) and ensure the Workplace team executes to the business continuity plans

  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for food, beverages and other essential services. Oversee contract administration by ensuring all agreements are accurately documented in the contract management system. Manage renewals, extensions, and cancellations, and proactively address upcoming deadlines. Continually assess service levels and manage RFPs and update providers as needed

  • Work closely with Real Estate to provide detailed input, requirements, and expertise as it relates to Workplace operations for all lease renewals, new builds or renovations to ensure effective operations from the first day of business

  • Analyze data from occupancy data, customer surveys (and lunch and learns), with actual spend to develop workplace strategies and identify trends for improvement in line with facts

  • Oversees the development and manages the annual operating budgets, including financial variance tracking, and operations expenses management. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality

  • Lead workplace initiatives through effective change management strategies, ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the process

  • Deliver regular updates to stakeholders on workplace operations, project progress, and performance metrics to maintain transparency and alignment. Prepare and present comprehensive reports detailing workplace operations, key performance indicators, and project milestones

  • Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with cross-functional team members across several varying time-zones and regions, including landlord/building management, vendors, contractors, and consultants

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with executive and senior leadership to ensure that services are aligned with business requirements – keen focus on directing the Workplace Operations team to embrace a world class, hospitality-first mindset

  • Partner with the Sustainability Team to identify and implement opportunities to increase sustainability within the office environment

  • Experience: A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5+ years of Workplace leadership experience managing teams across multiple countries and organizational levels.

  • Location and Travel: Able to work from the New York office 5 days a week, and travel 20% of time to hubs, including international locations

Excellent oral/written communication, provides information in a clear/concise manner; good interpersonal skills; proven ability to interact with all levels of employees including senior executives

  • Vendor management: Experience working with a variety of infrastructure service providers - custodial, catering, maintenance, etc.

  • Project and Program Management: Proven ability to manage projects and programs and work collaboratively across teams, ensuring alignment and seamless execution. Partner with the Construction project team and support the logistics management and execution of any office construction, renovation, or office-wide initiatives, ensuring smooth execution from planning to completion. Communicate regularly with all internal stakeholders on progress.

  • Technology: Hands-on experience with Google Suite, Jira, Coupa, Slack and Sigma. Proficient in analytics and strong technical skills in Excel and Google Sheets.

  • Expense Tracking & Budget Management: Proficient in budget development and management, aligning financial planning with operational needs to optimize costs. Keen understanding of sourcing/procurement processes.

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with workplace trends, including hybrid and remote work practices. Understanding of workplace design principles and their impact on collaboration and productivity

Compensation

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.

The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographical market up to our highest geographical market within the United States.

$146,200 — $215,000 USD
