Senior Java Full Stack Engineer (Hybrid)

We are looking for a Senior Java Full Stack Engineer with experience in Spring Boot and Advanced Java to join our team.

The ideal candidate will work in a hybrid model and contribute to the development of high-quality software solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of software engineering principles and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Location: New York - NY USA (Hybrid)

Role and Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain high-quality software solutions using Spring Boot and Advanced Java.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define design and ship new features.
• Ensure the performance quality and responsiveness of applications.
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
• Help maintain code quality organization and automation.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain competitive.
• Work closely with product managers to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes.
• Ensure that all development activities comply with established standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure smooth deployment and operation of software solutions.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide regular updates on project status and milestones.

Qualifications:

• Must have extensive experience in Spring Boot and Advanced Java.
• Should have a strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices.
• Must possess excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Should have experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Should have strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid model and be flexible with work hours.
• Should have a good understanding of Agile methodologies.
• Must be detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Should have a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
• Must be able to mentor and guide junior team members.
• Should have a passion for technology and a desire to stay current with industry trends.

Desired Qualifications:

• Nice to have experience with microservices architecture.
• Nice to have experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until 4/25/2025.

The annual salary for this position is between $68K - $114K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
