TITLE: Senior International Actuarial and Benefit Consultant IIEMPLOYER: Mercer Health & Benefits, LLCLOCATION: New York, NY (A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with company policies.) DUTIES: Provide specialized actuarial expertise, knowledge, data and tools to help multinationals manage their global people risk. Advise clients on actuarial aspects of their employees’ retirement and benefit programs. Manage a variety of different actuarial projects for multinational clients including Global Actuarial appointments, Global DC Plan Management, Global Broking and Multinational Pooling, Captives, Benefits for Expatriates/Mobile employees, Inventory and benchmarking of global benefits / perquisites, New Country Setup and Cross border transactions. Analyze, refine and design strategies to identify key drivers and optimize employee benefits. Perform multi-country benefit audits including comparison with market practice and present results to the client. Partner with other consultants to perform multi-country benefits due diligence for company and acquisition projects. Identify appropriate resources globally to respond to specific client requests on international issues. Review deliverables to ensure that they meet client needs. Oversee and manage the compilation of global benefit inventories for multinational clients and provide recommendations on changes to benefit programs as appropriate. Delegate, guide and train junior staff and peer review their work. Act as an advisor to junior staff for problem resolution and guidance on appropriate ways to deal with challenges. Research and communicate insights on best practices and business implications from industry developments in relevant topic area (e.g., brand, claims, communications, compensation and other areas of expertise). Identify problems and priorities to facilitate and plan execution of solution delivery and strategy implementation. Develop, test and evaluate current and proposed strategies and conduct post-implementation assessment. Consult and provide expert advice and coordinated delivery of global and regional solutions for multinational organizations. Accountable for the day-to-day management of the activity of consultants around the world. Own all client deliverables. Develop and maintain personal and working relationships with key client stakeholders to transition into the role of a trusted advisor and facilitate the sharing of advice and information relevant to the client, developing new and expanded business, and gaining client referrals.REQTS: Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Statistics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field plus five (5) years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience in the position offered or a related position. Must have five (5) years of experience with all of the following: Providing solutions for the benefits needs of multinational companies, including benefit audits, multi-country benchmarking, multinational pooling studies and pool management, local and global pension plan administration, global pension and post-retirement accounting consolidation and annual insurance policy renewals; Multi-year projects, including detailed review of pension and insurance benefits to local employees in multiple countries; Analyzing, validating and manipulating large data sets in Excel to perform complex pension and other benefit calculations; Handling internal and external research while providing clear directions; Providing benefits administration support to multinational clients; Advising multinational clients on local legislative changes that may impact the design and administration of their benefit plans. Must include one (1) year of experience with all of the following: Designing cost-efficient and relevant global/local employee benefits and overseeing application of governing plan document, insurance policies, and internal HR policies; Preparing employee communications including benefits statements and other employee education materials; Presenting findings in response to client/employee queries in formal and ad-hoc situations; Engaging directly with clients (verbally and written) in formal and ad-hoc situations; Managing Merger and Acquisition projects with respect to benefit due diligence, integration of programs, and readiness support; Expanding relationship with existing clients and bringing in prospective clients for revenue growth.SALARY: The applicable base salary range for this role is $194,314 - $270,000 per year. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
