NBC Universal Senior Broadcast Producer, Weekend Nightly News in New York, New York

Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('SpinCo') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Senior Broadcast Producer with exceptional editorial judgment, strong control room leadership, and a deep commitment to journalistic excellence. This role requires a seasoned newsroom leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-stakes news environment and can collaborate effectively across teams to deliver a compelling, dynamic broadcast.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage production teams, including producers, associate producers, and researchers, from story ideation to air
Execute the program from the control room, directing correspondents in the field, finalizing pieces, and providing editorial support to the anchor and Executive Producer
Develop, refine, and execute hard news and enterprise segments across broadcast and digital platforms
Evaluate pitches and generate original story ideas that align with the Nightly News mission
Supervise direct reports, providing mentorship and editorial guidance
Ensure the highest standards of accuracy, storytelling, and production value are met in every segment
Lead the control room as needed during breaking news specials, ensuring seamless execution under pressure
Collaborate closely with the Executive Producer to maintain the program’s editorial vision and serve as a fill-in when needed
Stay ahead of breaking news and adapt coverage strategies in real-time
At least 7 years of experience in news production at the national network level, preferably on an evening broadcast
Bachelor’s degree required
Proven experience leading newsroom teams and managing editorial processes
Strong control room experience with the ability to oversee live broadcasts and breaking news coverage
Exceptional writing, research, and editorial judgment skills
Demonstrated ability to craft compelling news segments that inform and engage audiences
Must be willing to work in person Wednesday-Sunday in New York, NY
Ability to work evenings, holidays, and extended hours as breaking news requires

Additional Requirements:
- Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite
