Mount Sinai Health System Radiological Technician (Lead)-Mount Sinai Doctors Medical Group - Full Time - Days in New York, New York

Job Description

To perform radiographic examinations on patients referred by physicians in accordance with Radiology protocols.

Qualifications

Minimum of five years as radiological technologist. New York State License; ARRT Certification.

Responsibilities

  1. Performs Specialized procedures.

  2. Performs CT Scan procedures.

  3. Operates all radiographic imaging equipment associated with Special Procedures, Computed Tomography, and General Diagnostic, including but not limited to image intensifiers, monitors, injectors, and angiographic tables.

  4. Applies the necessary technical judgment to obtain studies of an acceptable diagnostic quality according to written protocols and the patient’s needs.

  5. Provides Leadership and direction to support personnel in the absence of a supervisor.

  6. Delegates responsibility to staff as appropriate.

  7. Coordinates breaks and meal times.

  8. Assists in orientation of Staff Technologists.

  9. Allocates work to the technologist.

  10. Prepares patients with aseptic solutions and sterile drapes.

  11. Assists in preparation of sterile surgical instruments and supplies needed for all Special Procedure examinations.

  12. Assists physician with room set up and procedure, when required, to include opening, and handing guide wires, catheters, setting up trays, etc.

  13. Explains procedures to patients and answer questions.

  14. Loads and programs contrast media power injectors according to established departmental procedures.

  15. Prepares and administers oral and IV contrast media and accessories required to assist physicians in performing procedures.

  16. Prepares and operates specialized imaging equipment, sets controls, establishes proper “programs” under direction of the Radiologist.

  17. Ensures supplies are ordered as needed by informing immediate supervisor or personnel responsible for placing orders.

  18. Maintains exam room cleanliness and orderliness of the work area and equipment to include removal of soiled or dirty linen to ensure compliance with infection control and departmental standards.

  19. Coordinates scan protocols with radiologist.

  20. Scans patient documents as required.

  21. Employs radiation protection measures and follows departmental protocols to keep exposure of patients, visitors and hospital personnel to a minimum.

  22. Performs all quality assurance procedures as required.

  23. Prevents the spread of infection to self, patients, visitors, and other employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocol.

  24. Ensures that all studies performed are completed in IDX (Radiology Information System) in a timely fashion:

  25. Accurately records all required patient tracking information into IDX (Radiology Information System).

  26. Schedules exams into IDX (Radiology Information System) as required

  27. Performs non-disciplinary job duties of the assistant supervisor as required. Assists in training and development of technical staff and students

  28. Maintains in good standing, licensure specific to job to include adherence to Article 35 of the Public Health Code:

Compensation Statement

Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $57.0231 - $57.0231 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
