Meta Product Security Engineer - Technical Lead in New York, New York
Summary:
The Meta Product Security team is responsible for improving the security posture of the software and services. Our work spans across Meta’s family of apps (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp), Oculus, and all of the underlying systems and infrastructure that power these products behind the scenes.We strive to go beyond just identifying security vulnerabilities and flaws by helping teams fix issues before they are live in production and automatically preventing security problems during the development process. Required Skills:
Product Security Engineer - Technical Lead Responsibilities:
Represent the security organization in product strategy and roadmap development, ensuring alignment with engineers and leadership.
Identify, prioritize, and execute strategic initiatives to enhance the security maturity of our products at scale, leveraging expertise in security best practices and industry trends.
Provide architectural, design, and threat-based guidance to software development teams to improve the security maturity before code is written.
Conduct code reviews in: Python, PHP, Java, Ruby, Go, Rust, C/C++ (or similar language)
Eliminate classes of security problems by shifting the detection and preventions left into the development workflow.
Act as the primary liaison between the product/engineering teams and the Meta security team
Minimum Qualifications:

B.S. or M.S. Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
8+ years work experience securing product software and services
Experience fixing product security risks across broad problem spaces using influence and relationships
Experience in designing, analyzing, improving efficiency, scalability, and stability distributed systems and conducting threat model assessment of software and services
Experience communicating risks and roadmaps to leadership

Broad knowledge of the security domain in one or more of the following domains: web applications, mobile applications, distributed infrastructure, consumer devices, production hardware, or a related field
Experience making contributions to the security or privacy community (public research, blogging, presentations, etc.)
Public Compensation:
$177,000/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
