Mid-level Associate (Americas Antitrust) (White & Case LLP, New York, NY)Develop legal advice and recommendations for clients involved in antitrust class actions, appellate litigations, adversary proceedings before bankruptcy courts, and other general commercial disputes. Devise legal strategy for ongoing matters, including but not limited to discovery and overall litigation strategy. Research, prepare analysis and draft court filings on commercial and antitrust litigation focused in the technology, telecommunications, oil and gas, pharmaceutical and healthcare, and retail industries. Direct the research, analysis, and presentation of conclusions on domestic and foreign laws, court decisions, and regulations related to ongoing legal disputes with a specific focus on Latin America and India. Review final filings in ongoing litigations, including appellate briefs, dispositive motions, pretrial and post-trial briefs, discovery requests, responses to discovery requests, and others. Take and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses. Interview and prepare fact and expert witnesses for depositions and trials in legal disputes. Lead document review teams to protect client interests and identify evidence to support client claims and defenses. Address multijurisdictional filing issues in more nuanced cases, liaising with client and internal colleagues/ foreign lawyers as necessary. Oversee the drafting of internal legal memoranda on issues and strategies for ongoing cases. Supervise matter timelines, vendor selection, litigation support and any necessary technology. Liaise directly with clients, partners, and senior associates on substantive legal issues and overall case strategy. Delegate and manage document review to protect client interests and identify evidence to support client claims and defenses. Assist in client-matter management, including supervising legal assistants and junior associates and helping to implement legal practice management principles. Coordinate client meetings and prepare client pitch materials supporting Partners’ strategies. Provide mentorship to junior associates, including participating in development sessions for early careers classes. Telecommuting may be permitted up to 2 days per week. When not telecommuting, must report to White & Case, LLP, 1221 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10020. Salary: $310,000 - $390,000/year.Minimum Requirements: LL.M., J.D., or U.S. equivalent in law plus at least 3 years of professional experience as an Attorney, Associate, or related occupation/position/title in an international law firm, providing legal advice to domestic and international clients in antitrust and litigation proceedings.Must also have experience with the following special skills: 3 years of professional experience advising clients on antitrust compliance issues, antitrust litigation, class actions, and general commercial disputes with a focus on automotive, telecommunications, oil and gas, retail, technology, and infrastructure industries; 3 years of professional experience drafting filings for ongoing litigation and related legal memoranda, including devising and managing litigation strategies with respect to the oil and gas, automotive, telecommunications, and healthcare industries; 3 years of professional experience in litigation, including antitrust litigation, class actions, adversary proceedings before bankruptcy courts, and commercial disputes; 3 years of professional experience managing multiple litigation projects, including antitrust litigation, class actions, adversary proceedings before bankruptcy courts, and commercial disputes; 3 years of professional experience conducting antitrust compliance programs for multinational companies in the Oil and Gas industry, including drafting memoranda and providing recommendations on international antitrust compliance; and 3 years of professional experience working with external international attorneys and law firms to manage international litigations in Latin America and India, including drafting memoranda, and providing recommendations to clients and regulators on antitrust compliance in relation to the technology industry.
