Overview
The Morrow Group, a division of HarperCollins Publishers, is seeking a creative, organized, and dynamic Marketing & Publicity Manager to lead and execute fully integrated publicity and marketing campaigns for frontlist and backlist nonfiction titles published by Morrow Group imprints (including William Morrow, Mariner, Dey Street, and Harvest).

This position is based out of NYC on a hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities
Conceives, develops and executes integrated, cohesive publicity and marketing campaigns for 5-8 books per season.
Creates a unified message for each campaign with the goal of securing media coverage as well as consumer and influencer activation through content creation, social media, newsletters, advertising, event opportunities and traditional marketing tactics.
Collaborates with Morrow Group imprint leads on marketing and publicity campaign strategy.
Communicates detailed campaign updates directly to key stakeholders both internally and externally.
Oversees budgets for assigned titles.
Offers feedback to the editorial group on select author proposals and represents the imprint in acquisition meetings with prospective authors.
Fosters and maintains functional relationships with key influencers, broadcast, print, and digital media contacts.
Regularly presents at sales and marketing meetings
Guides opportunities to promote backlist books, including developing cost-effective campaigns, leveraging current trends.
Qualifications
College degree or equivalent work experience
A minimum of 3-5 years of publicity experience is required (trade book publicity is a plus); some marketing experience preferred
Excellent skillset in project management, communication, organization, working independently, and presenting campaign plans and updates
Ability to work cross-functionally across the division and within the company
Exceptional written and oral communications skills, positive attitude, and a high level of professionalism, creativity, and attention to detail
Demonstrated knowledge of social media best practices and how they apply to books as a marketing and sales tool
Proficiency in MS Office Suite required; experience with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite or similar design programs preferred; social media knowledge and skills, including any content creation experience, is a plus
Must be a resourceful self-starter who can take initiative and independently solve problems
Knowledge and passion for nonfiction books, particularly an awareness of current trends in popular culture and politics

The salary range for this position is $70,000- $75,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
