The Department: The Market Intelligence Team (MI) with the CDMO Consumer Function plays a vital role in empowering data-driven decision making at L'Oréal. MI uses a wide variety of research techniques and tools to track and forecast the beauty landscape. As a business partner, the team leverages insights (data-based) pertaining to the consumer, shopper and market to aid in category go-to-market strategies for our divisions. We pride ourselves on our collaborative spirit, analytical rigor, and passion for the beauty industry.

Job Summary: L'Oréal is searching for a highly motivated, analytically driven, and collaborative individual to join our dynamic Market Measurement team. In this role, you will be a key partner to LUSA divisions and business product categories, providing critical insights and support through robust market analysis, forecasting, and reporting. The person will have the vision, structured thinking and business savvy to help syndicated data be implemented as a competitive advantage for the organization.

Qualities to be possessed by the candidate include: able to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a passion for beauty, and experience in the field of market research, particularly with syndicated data and systems.

What You Will Learn:

  • Lead Measurement & Analysis for a LUSA Division/Category (TBD on Placement Specifics):

  • Own reporting and forecasting initiatives for a division’s beauty market, effectively managing the complexities of diverse selling models including traditional retail and e-commerce (1P & 3P).

  • Develop insightful analyses and deliver actionable recommendations that drive strategic decision-making and anticipate market shifts.

  • Masterfully integrate data from various sources (syndicated data, consumer panels, digital analytics, etc.) to uncover impactful insights.

  • Will be a lead on a key beauty product category [Skin, Makeup, Hair, or Fragrance]

  • Responsible for the data quality and cleanliness of our syndicated databases

  • Project Management & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Expertly manage multiple, often concurrent, projects with competing deadlines, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.

  • Confidently communicate complex information (both in oral communication, written, and through presentation visualization) to diverse audiences, including senior leadership, in a clear and compelling manner.

  • Cultivate and manage strong relationships with key vendor partners, maximizing the value of these partnerships.

  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance existing processes and introduce new methodologies that elevate the team's analytical capabilities.

  • Maintain a pulse on emerging trends and innovations within the market research landscape, particularly related to the beauty industry.

    What We Are Looking For:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in business or statistics

  • Experience: 5-7 years of experience in syndicated market research, ideally within the beauty industry. Marketing or Brand Management experience preferred.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and syndicated data analysis, particularly NIQ (NielsenIQ) Discover (or comparable platforms) and consumer panel data

  • Experience with Kline, Euromonitor, e-commerce analytics, and social listening tools is highly desirable.

  • Proficient in data visualization tools and techniques to effectively communicate insights

  • Salary Range [New York] : $98,400-$140,200 base salary (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
