Job Title Manager, GK POS Tech Lead

Location: 435 Hudson Street till around end of Q2, then relocating to 10 Hudson Yards NYC

What You Will Learn:

Lead the technology vision and execution for L'Oréal's Salon Centric retail platform, encompassing over 700 B2B stores. This critical role drives the strategic direction of the GK Retail ecosystem, ensuring its seamless integration with other enterprise systems and supporting the evolving needs of Salon Centric’s operations. Accountable for the full development lifecycle of Retail IT projects, this position ensures alignment with overall business objectives and facilitates innovation within the GK Omni POS landscape.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and champion the technology roadmap for the Salon Centric / GK environment, proactively identifying opportunities for innovation and optimization.

  • Oversee the ongoing design, development, and maintenance of the GK POS application, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security. This includes directing post-launch monitoring, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Lead the strategic analysis, redesign, and implementation of integration solutions for the GK POS system, particularly in the context of the SAP NEO migration. Collaborate with the Integration Lead to define and implement API-based integration approaches that ensure data integrity and consistency across all systems.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive architectural roadmaps and documentation for Salon Centric projects, outlining current and future states, and ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards.

  • Mentor a team of developers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Oversee product deliverables throughout the development lifecycle, from estimation to delivery and hypercare, ensuring consistent progress and quality through effective management of onshore and offshore development resources.

  • Actively champion the transformation of the team to Agile methodologies and a product-oriented development approach, fostering a culture of experimentation and iterative improvement.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, translating complex technical concepts into clear, business-relevant language. Build strong relationships with business partners, IT teams, and vendors to ensure alignment and collaboration.

What We Are Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Expert-level understanding of Systems Architecture and IT Project Lifecycle management principles.

  • Deep expertise in Point-Of-Sale (POS) platforms, with mastery of GK Omni Point-Of-Sales Solution as a must. (Experience with CEGID or other POS platforms is a significant advantage).

  • Proficiency in SQL Server Development (PostgreSQL), including Stored Procedures, Triggers, Functions, and Assemblies.

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing integrations with ERP systems (SAP ECC, S4, P360).

  • Strong proficiency in the design and development of Web APIs (REST and SOAP) utilizing OAuth2.0 authentication methods.

  • Experience with scripting languages such as Batch, PowerShell, VB Scripting, Java Script, and Python.

  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence applications and ETL tools (e.g., SQL-based SSRS, SSIS).

  • Working knowledge of VB.Net / C#.NET, Java Script, and HTML.

  • Experience with DevOps tools (GitHub, Azure DevOps).

  • Ability to create comprehensive technical documentation and build process flowcharts.

  • Solid understanding of the retail industry and experience working in a retail environment.

  • Strong background in Agile transformation and product-oriented development methodologies.

  • Demonstrated project management experience at an enterprise level, implementing integrated business processes that leverage system capabilities and best practices.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment, demonstrates a high level of time management and organizational skills.

  • Flexibility and willingness to compromise to achieve common goals.

  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.

    Additional Benefits Information As Follows:

    Salary Range : $98,400 - $140,200 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
