We’re looking for an Investment Director to join our team. Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure Debt, you’ll be responsible to help build the senior and high yield debt origination capabilities within the Principal Infrastructure Debt platform and support European client fundraising and marketing activity!

• Focus on origination/underwriting and portfolio activity across Europe

• Develop relationships with relevant market participants including Sponsors, Advisors and Agents

• Support the expansion of Principal’s Infrastructure marketing efforts and client meetings

• Cover key infrastructure sectors including transportation, power and energy, utilities, digital, social infrastructure and project financings

Who You Are

• Bachelor's Degree

• Strong credit capabilities with 10+ years of relevant infrastructure and project finance originations experience, including at least 5 years of direct underwriting and portfolio management experience

• Strong sales and negotiating skills along with deep relationships with senior members of leading Sponsor firms that include a history of sourcing an attractive financing transactions

• Comprehensive knowledge of market pricing and terms along with a creative and balanced approach to credit structuring and pricing

• Experience in managing transaction teams, leading the execution effort from origination to closing

Skills That Will Help You Stand Out

• Experience in Infrastructure private placements

• European private infrastructure origination/underwriting experience

• MBA and/or CFA preferred

• Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong motivation and leadership characteristics

• Able to balance a calm, steady, patient approach to business with passion to compete and win new business in a highly competitive environment

• Accepts and manages conflict and disagreement in a constructive and professional manner

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$193000 - $277000 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
