Global Investment Research (GIR) provides investment recommendations by generating fundamental research and analysis of companies, industries, markets and economies. GIR analysts, economists and strategists help our clients achieve superior returns through our creative, differentiated investment insights and ideas. Our clients include mutual funds, hedge funds and pension funds, among others.

The Macro Research team focuses on the intersection between economics and financial markets across a wide class of assets including equities, fixed income/credit, currencies, and commodities.

We are seeking an analyst to join the Structured Credit Research team in NY.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing and interpreting datasets related to the agency and non-agency RMSB markets.
  • Presenting data and conclusions in a clear and efficient manner to a wide range of senior stakeholders.
  • Staying on top of industry-related news and analyzing the implications of news/industry developments
  • Supporting senior strategist in producing and publishing innovative research
  • Collaborating with the broader Macro Research team
  • Supporting internal stakeholders in institutional client services (sales and trading) and across the firm

Preferred Qualifications & Skillset:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in analyzing and interpreting data related to credit market or economics.
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Finance, Economics, or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)
  • Strong quantitative skills and fluency in applied statistics and econometrics.
  • Experience using Python, SQL, R, SAS, etc. for statistical analysis and data manipulation.
  • Familiarity with vendor data such as Intex, Bloomberg, Yield Book, Reuters and Haver is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Professional writing experience a plus e.g. crafting research notes.
  • Ability to work in team-centric environment.

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $110000-$125000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
