S ummary

The Environmental Specialist Level 3 supports Project Management for permitting/design and construction project s /program s .

Responsibilities

Involved with supporting survey field efforts by working with technical leads to identify needs for survey crews.

Ensures th e team tracks necessary equipment, reviews and logs calibration requirements provides crews with safety plans , and files daily logs.

Coordinates and attend s meetings and assists in developing a tracking system to manage assignments.

Distributes notes per project requirements.

Works to maintain schedules for all projects under this program under the direction of task leads.

Applies MTA C&D quality assurance guidelines and procedures for project document management.

Assists in preparing portions of reports and permit documents.

Works with GIS support to communicate any updates.

Education and Experience

Bachelors in Environmental Science/Environmental Technology/Environmental Management /Archaeology / Anthropology /Biology /Wildlife or an equivalent subject.

Masters preferred.

Various Disciplines may be (but are not limited to) Historic Preservation and Cultural , Environmental Resources , Asbestos, Lead , and Hazardous Materials.

Must have a minimum of four ( 5 ) years of related experience.

Competencies:

CEP-IT certification desirable.

Knowledge of the capital design and construction process.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency in current industry software and Microsoft Office are required.

Experience visiting the field for initial scope/survey and construction oversight preferred.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Mus t be proficient in MS Word and Excel.

Analytical ability, pro-active attitude, willingness to learn , and an ability to think "outside the box" when required.
