What You Will Do:
The Trade Marketing team exists as the strategic hub for the externally facing commercial teams. The incumbent institutes strategic business plans that integrate, align, and achieve retailer and L’Oréal goals. The Director works on the long term strategic vision of the brand in collaboration with marketing and other cross functional teams to ensure continued growth (1-3 years) while also supporting the team to produce guiding 4P principles that the external Commercial Team will be held accountable to. These will be updated and adapted by the Trade Marketer as the market place evolves and the brands needs change. The Director also serves as a liaison between all internal cross-functional partners to provide interpretation and direction on their respective strategies to the account teams.
The Director will act as the internal voice for the Commercial teams needs and work cross functionally with other teams to ensure successful outcomes. The Director supports the business planning process and works with the commercial team to ensure the plan reflects the strategic goals of the business unit. The SMCS is also accountable to ensuring the Commercial team is implementing the plan approved by internal business leaders and supporting any gaps to that plan.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Vision:
Develops and defines the overarching trade marketing vision, strategy, and objectives aligned with the company's long-term goals.
Identifies and analyzes emerging market trends, competitive landscape shifts, and evolving customer needs to proactively shape future strategies.
Champions and secures buy-in for the trade marketing vision across senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Oversees the development and implementation of the 4P Retail Strategy, ensuring alignment with brand positioning and commercial objectives.
Financial Planning & Resource Allocation :
Owns the overall trade marketing budget, forecasting, and resource allocation process.
Monitors and analyzes return on investment (ROI) for all trade marketing initiatives, optimizing resource allocation for maximum impact.
Leads financial discussions and presents budget proposals to senior management.
Team Leadership & Development:
Builds, leads, and mentors a high-performing trade marketing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
Conducts performance reviews, provides developmental feedback, and identifies opportunities for team growth and advancement.
Sets clear team priorities, goals, and performance expectations, ensuring alignment with overall trade marketing objectives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence:
Serves as the primary point of contact and liaison between trade marketing and senior leadership, marketing, sales, finance, and other key internal stakeholders.
Works closely with Field Sales Vice Presidents (FSVPs) to integrate the 1-3 year brand vision into trade marketing plans.
Ensures effective communication and collaboration between internal teams and external commercial partners to achieve shared business objectives.
Involvement in Consensus, in-depth knowledge of sell-in/sell-out data to represent the sales teams and identifying gaps and opportunities.
Represents the "voice of the customer" within the organization, providing insights and feedback to inform product development, marketing campaigns, and overall brand strategy.
Strategic Planning & Execution:
Leads the development and execution of key trade marketing initiatives, including national sales meetings and top-account business planning sessions.
Sets the strategic direction for customer segmentation, ensuring alignment with market dynamics and evolving customer needs.
Accountable for adherence and enforcement of retailer timelines and the full and timely issuance of all GTM materials.
What We Are Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
4 year college degree
8+ Years of CPG or equivalent experience; sales experience a plus
Strong knowledge and experience in IRI / Nielsen systems (experience with syndicated data a plus)
Candidate should possess analytical experience, with a CPG background preferred

Additional Benefits Information As Follows:
Salary Range : $140-100 – 172,720 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
