Job Summary:
The Director, Retail Media will play a critical role in developing and executing retail media strategy across the organization. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional and cross-divisional teams to drive business growth through best-in-class retail media execution. This role requires a deep understanding of retail media platforms, strong analytical skills, team leadership, and a proven ability to drive business growth through effective media strategies. The Director will lead a small team in maximizing the impact of retail media investments in O+O channels including Criteo and Walmart Search, ensuring alignment with brand and commercial objectives, and driving overall sales growth.
Responsibilities:
Build & lead a team of hands-on-keyboard experts in activating paid media. Driving best practice for campaign planning, pacing, and optimization across brands.
Planning & activating media budgets through self-serve programmatic platforms like Criteo for optimal business impact across key retail partners like Target, Ulta, Nordstrom and Macy’s.
Leading campaign strategy for the team in retail media networks like Walmart connect for paid search and self-serve display advertising.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication: Provide the retailer channel leads with visibility into all customer activation efforts, coordinating closely with media and commercial teams. Regularly communicate with respective retailer leads to share evolving business priorities, budget changes (e.g., incremental dollars, cuts), and align on optimization strategies and media Joint Business Plan (JBP) inputs.
Innovation & Emerging Channels: Stay abreast of new retail media offerings and emerging channels. Recommend and lead test-and-learn opportunities to drive innovation and maximize ROI.
Brand Awareness & Holistic Media Vision: Develop and champion a strong media vision that goes beyond conversion, leveraging retail media to drive brand awareness and build a strong brand presence within the retail environment.
Performance Measurement & Reporting: Partner with the Divisions for the effectiveness of retail media spend and the outcome of investments. Ensure media contributes to total brand sales and objectives. Establish clear brand/division-specific reporting and measurement requirements to provide robust and timely support for leadership.
Technical Expertise & Data Utilization: Demonstrate a strong understanding of technical aspects related to third-party integrations, tagging, pixels, and leveraging L'Oréal's first-party data to enhance campaign effectiveness and measurement.
What We Are Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, or a related field. MBA preferred.
7+ years of experience in retail media, digital marketing, or a related field.
Deep understanding of retail media platforms and best practices.
Experience building and optimizing campaigns in Criteo and retail media networks.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to manage budgets and drive ROI.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.

Additional Benefits Information As Follows:
Salary Range [New York] : $138,500 - $200,800 base salary (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
