Overview

The Director, Investment + Insights and Optimizations directly supports the Owned & Operated team for a leading Entertainment client. They will function as an extension of the client team and be fully integrated into the day-to-day work at the client. They will report to the client O&O team VP In addition, they will work closely with the Starcom account team.

The Director works with a variety of data platforms and understands the client’s database systems, data needs, and workflows to monitor data quality, diagnose issues, and improve process efficiency. The client has a sophisticated and detailed process for allocating and optimizing their O&O inventory across Linear, Digital Video & Display properties. They own and manage several tech systems to allocate this inventory across their four business units (US Networks, Streaming, Theatricals & Gaming). The ability to problem solve and work well with various internal agency and external client teams is a critical aspect of this role.

This role provides the opportunity to work on-site, directly with the client where you will create and maintain processes to ensure the marketing and operations supporting the O&O side of the business maintains a high integrity from planning through the end of the campaign.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee data health and monitor data quality for the organization’s marketing data

  • Monitoring and troubleshooting data consistency across platforms and business units

  • Provide Data QA throughout the life of marketing campaigns and measurement tools

  • Utilize internal QA tools and dashboards to support frontend data validation efforts

  • Develop processes to ensure data integrity and implement across all business units

  • Troubleshoot data validation issues in partnership with Marketing Intelligence Team

  • Develop pre-emptive tools and processes to track marketing programs

  • Track house numbers, executions, and plan information across initiatives for a central repository and standard way of tracking all relevant metadata

  • Maintain master metadata tables and reference guides for relevant data sets and processes

  • Create and maintain Monday board coordinating initiative owners and data requirements

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to address root cause of issues, improving data quality with upstream process enhancements, education, and stakeholder partnership

  • Organize strategy sheet library and access across initiatives

Qualifications

  • Educational background in information systems management, statistics, computer science, economics, or business degrees preferred

  • 7+ years of related professional experience

  • Strong quantitative data skills and the capacity to understand research information

  • Analytics experience with data visualization tools (Datorama, Looker, Tableau)

  • Hands-on experience manipulating, accessing, and evaluating data from various data sources and environments

  • Ability to work independently (proactive) and collaboratively with diverse groups

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with heavy focus on Excel and macros

  • Technical proficiency in database management

  • Ability to work under pressure with continuous ability to reprioritize, applying media thinking and best practice knowledge

  • Willingness to learn and create solutions that challenge the status quo

  • A proven ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects effectively and work well under pressure to deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines

The benefits offerings listed are available to U.S. based employees, are reviewed on an annual basis, and are governed by the terms of the applicable plan documents.

Compensation Range: $132,715 - $208,840 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
