The Team

The Healthcare Industry Group, a subsidiary of A& M, leads transformational change in healthcare. How you will contribute

As a Director you will be leading a team and acting as the main conduit between healthcare clients and our team on a range of complex assignments. You will manage projects by developing project goals and timelines, overseeing interview activities, gathering relevant data, reviewing work product of junior staff, and communicating with clients directly. The position is a unique opportunity to develop and grow key skills in the diverse and ever-changing Healthcare Industry. This role requires a flexible clear thinker with an aptitude for design and eye for "zero-defect" work. While this role is primarily client-facing and operational, the Director will also be expected to support marketing, R& D and additional roles as the client may request it. Depending on the client project the responsibilities of a Director may typically include:

  • Knowledge of engagement economics and overall product delivery, budgeting, and timely billing & collections including managing the implementation risk and profitability for smaller scale projects.
  • Building, reviewing, and presenting appropriate financial models such as 13-week cash-flow forecast, pro-forma analysis and three statement financial models to clients.
  • Communicating and engaging with clients to foster compatible relationships and provide high quality updates both written and verbal.
  • Providing strategic guidance to manage a client through crisis and/or quick solutions and time frames.
  • Managing performance of project teams, including assigning and delegating project responsibilities and providing on-the-job coaching and constructive feedback.
  • Improving client tracking tools and developing KPIs and metrics to identify and quantify quality and operational performance improvement opportunities.
  • Swiftly identifying and resolving root causes of client issues while understanding the importance of urgency and accuracy of redesigning processes and developing solutions to achieve client goals.
  • Engaging in c-suite and board level conversations regarding the challenges facing clients and strategic initiatives for solving them.
  • Utilizing your experience and expertise to effectively function in interim roles (e.g., CEO, CFO, COO, other).
  • Developing transition and hand-off plans to ensure that improvements are sustainable.
  • Acting as integral member of sales team developing significant portions of proposal and pitch documents.
  • Effectively developing and managing client project plans and teams including meeting deadlines and managing on time deliverables.
  • Building relationships with clients and seeking opportunities to expand the scope of business while generating leads.
  • Driving client acquisition using A& M-wide relationship management tools.
  • Managing and mentoring junior staff including formal and informal training and development and mentoring.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of Eight (8) years of prior work experience in healthcare, consulting or healthcare industry such as healthcare banking, accounting, audit, private equity, managed care, health plans or healthcare operations with a healthcare focus
  • BA/BS degree and/or MBA/MS in Accounting, Finance, or other related healthcare fields such as MHA or MPH
  • Professional certifications such Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or demonstrated progress toward such certifications preferred.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare industry, including a fundamental understanding of healthcare finance, operations, valuation and various laws and regulations.
  • Advanced level of Excel proficiency and experience in financial modeling and analysis with the ability to build 13-week cash flow forecast and three statement model from scratch.
  • Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint and Word skills a must; experience with Tableau, SQL, SPSS, Power BI, Action O-I benchmarking, MGMA survey data a plus.
  • Ability to identify key operational performance drivers, cash flow forecasting, and flexibility to support clients with a broad array of issues.
  • Experience with managing client engagements, deliverables and workstreams while mentoring junior staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to communicate with and present information to all levels of client personnel.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.

The salary range is $160, 000 - $180, 000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A& M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.

Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are also entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings' fringe benefits consisting of healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts,
life, AD& D, and disability coverages at rates determined periodically as well as a 401(k) retirement savings plan. Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive an annual discretionary contribution to their 401(k) retirement savings plan from Alvarez & Marsal. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave.
