The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.
Position Overview:
MUFG's expertise as a foreign exchange (FX) provider covers all major currencies and markets with a real focus on Asian currencies. We offer comprehensive trading services, as well as bespoke Foreign Exchange risk management solutions for a wide variety of situations. We focus on building high-quality, long-term relationships with our clients, who benefit from our excellent credit rating and liquidity position. This is underpinned by MUFG's global network that covers 50 countries. We enjoy market dominance in Asian currency trading. By joining the FX trading desk, you will be joining a dynamic team which is expected to see strong revenue growth through the next medium term business plan. You will be working closely with MUFG’s sales representatives to provide often bespoke trading solutions, to corporate, institutional, central bank, and government clients.
Primary Responsibilities:
Contribute to strengthen customer-oriented global markets business worldwide, focusing on Asian emerging FX & IR business.
Managing Portfolio on FX & IR Risk focusing on Asian Emerging Market Currencies
Partnership with Sales team to develop EM Asia Franchise
Work in tandem with Global Trading Team to manage and monetize global portfolio risk.
Enhance risk management and profitability as active risk-taking trading by cross product hedging
Supervise, motivate and develop staff members of Emerging and FX Trading
Responsible for all trade lifecycle events
Innovate, develop and enhance trading tools contributing to system platform upgrades.
Produce own Trading research and work along with Sales team to leverage it.
Work Experience:
Essential:
Senior experience with Emerging Market FX and IR Risk Manager in Asian Currencies
Track record of generating trading revenues from market making and strategic activities
Preferred:
Relevant Experience in EM Rates trading
Experience in Cross assets Trading and position management
Track record of setting up Sales and Trading franchise on any FX & IR product
Experience in trading both onshore and offshore Asian markets.
Exposure to EM Institutional investors.
Skills and experience:
Functional / Technical Competencies:
Essential
Deep knowledge and expertise in Asian emerging FX market
Strong macro-economic and technical analysis skills
Passion for trading, particularly in FX and Emerging markets space.
Experience in VBA / Excel pricing sheets.
The ability to articulate and implement the vision/strategy
Preferred:
Extensive regulatory knowledge (Dodd-Frank, Volcker, SEFs, et al)
Solid operational skills with strong attention to details and high operational accuracy
Demonstrated ability to create own pricers for EM FX forward curves using money market instruments.
Model and scenario analysis.
Education / Qualifications:
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree and equivalent industry experience required

Advanced degree in finance or scientific field

The typical base pay range for this role is between $215K - $300K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
