The Analytics, Investment & Marketing Enablement (AIM) Team – a part of Global Commercial Services Marketing (GCSM) – is the analytical engine that enables American Express’ Global Commercial Business. The team drives profitable growth in acquisitions through Data, Analytics, AI-powered Targeting & Personalization Capabilities.

This Director role will be a hybrid role based out of New York, NY, and will be part of the Customer Analytics team within AIM.

They will directly lead a team – owning the end-to-end analytics required for creating the engine of growth which shall power the entire Customer journey starting from Acquisitions and encompassing Engagement and Retention across both Card & Beyond Card products. They will be responsible for driving the Offer Personalization for Customer Acquisitions in Commercial space which is a key priority for GCS business. The offer personalization engine will require using advanced analytics, disciplined test & learn, and effective partnership across the Blue Box. Another key focus of the role will be to lead, enhance and standardize CMV framework for GCS Customers which shall enable prioritization of leads and treatments across Cross Sell, Upgrades, Employee Card, and Engagement & Retention space. This role will require close collaboration with key partners across AIM, Marketing, Decision Science, Capabilities, Finance, GIO, and CFR teams.

Key Responsibilities Include :

  • Define, Design, Build, and Implement core analytical solutions to accelerate organic growth with multiple initiatives such as targeted offers, scale new treatments and enhance targeting insights capabilities

  • Strengthen and standardize the CMV framework across internal acquisition, engagement & retention functions to drive lead prioritization and harmony across all GCS Customer Marketing and Sales channels.

  • Collaborate with AIM colleagues managing targeting and analytics for Customer channels and corresponding Marketing colleagues on disciplined test & learn strategy, and various initiatives including setting goals & forecasts for the channel, influencing data-driven strategy changes, personalization.

  • Collaborate with Decision Science and Capabilities to manage, guide and build analytical solutions to improve efficiency.

  • Lead an internal team, and partner closely with cross-functional teams across Marketing, Decision Science, Capabilities, Finance, GIO, and CFR to achieve program objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science) or 3 years of experience in analytics is preferred.

  • Strong programming skills are preferred. Experience with Big Data programming languages (Hive, Spark), Python, SQL is a plus.

  • Experience in large data processing and handling, understanding in data science is a plus.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, cross-functional environment, with strong attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and encourage partners to drive collaboration and alignment.

  • Strong analytical/conceptual thinking competence to solve unstructured and complex business problems and articulate key findings to senior leaders/partners in a succinct and concise manner.

  • Demonstrated ability in directly and indirectly leading cross-functional teams is a plus.

  • Basic knowledge of statistical techniques like hypothesis testing, regression, t-test, and chi-square test.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $150,000.00 to $225,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
