Job Summary:

The role is an integral part of the Global Relationship Management (GRM) team working within the Global TMT Corporate and Investment Banking group focused on the Digital Infrastructure subsector. An Analyst has the responsibility to support the rest of the Digital Infrastructure team on major customer relationships and prospects within the sector to perform the functions of business origination support for Global Relationship Managers (GRM’s), and deal execution. As part of a defined business strategy, this role regularly originates both investment banking products and traditional credit products based on client requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist TMT banking team in expanding MUFG’s presence across the digital infrastructure space in lending, M&A finance, advisory, structured finance and capital markets

  • Manage & monitor the execution of operational aspects of business origination as directed by GRM, such as analyzing portfolio profitability, performing all follow-through of any deal origination and execution process, preparing economic capital analysis and managing customer intensive processes

  • Liaise with Product and Sponsor coverage Groups to assist in structuring and execution of deals

  • Primary contact for Global Network and management of Global Exposure Reports

  • Maintain proactive, in depth, and up-to-the-minute knowledge of market trends, customer developments and credit issues including regularly maintaining industry trading and transaction comps

  • Conduct due diligence on proposed client deals as required

  • Assist TMT banking team with establishing and / or enhancing various internal policies and guidelines to support the ongoing developments within the digital infrastructure sector Essential functions and coverage:

  • Execution of operational duties with regard to business origination process and deal execution at direction of GRM’s (covenant checking, loan documentation checking troubleshooting, problem solving, transaction follow-through, market research, internal/external communications)

  • Liaison with Overseas Branches / Product Offices / Planning

  • Preparation of value-added information for marketing materials/customer research

Skills & Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree

  • Corporate and Investment Banking experience with a minimum of 1 year

  • Credit experience ideally with a money center bank/regional formal credit training or equivalent

  • Experience in conducting valuation analyses (DCF, Trading and transaction comps)

  • Strong business and interpersonal skills

  • Marketing experience preferred

  • Financial modeling skills, Excel, Word & PowerPoint experience

  • Credit training preferred

Compensation & Benefits:

The typical base pay range for this role is between $100K - $110K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
