The People Relations Coordinator will support the People Relations team, working in partnership with legal counsel, PX (HR) Business and People Partners and is a significant contributor to key functions within the People eXperience (Human Resources) department and employees' experience.
The People Relations Coordinator assists the Senior Director, People Relations with the administration of policies, programs and procedures that include best practice frameworks in order to promote positive, inclusive people relations and a thriving, diverse and healthy workplace culture.
This position reports to the Senior Director, People Relations who leads the People Relations, Policy functions across the Americas for Sony Music Entertainment. It is a ground level role and a fantastic learning opportunity for someone just starting their HR journey, with an interest in the Employee Relations function.

As a representative of People Relations team, the successful candidate must also maintain the highest level of confidentiality and diplomacy regarding all matters.
What you'll do:- Act as a point of contact for people relations issues and opportunities.
- Assist with employee investigations, disciplinary hearings and mediation sessions.
- Maintain investigation files and general People Relations record keeping, including intake and investigative notes and tracking employee complaints, accommodation requests, performance improvement plans and warning logs.
- Maintain Employee Relations case management system and assist with intake for new Employee Relations matters.
- Support the Sr. Director, People Relations in managing the medical and religious accommodation process, including handling correspondence to employees, logging sensitive information, tracking deadlines and maintaining metrics.
- Create and/or edit letters, PowerPoint presentations, and Microsoft Excel spreadsheets as required.
- Liaise with the Legal department, Compensation and Benefits, PX Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Learning and People Development teams as needed.
- Maintain SharePoint sites and confidential file organization.
- Coordinate and organize employee trainings and other initiatives.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of HR systems, programs, plans, policies, and processes.
- Participate in and contribute to the proactive review and implementation of process improvements, policies, programs and procedures related to and within the People Relations team.
- Partner with HRIS on supporting tools/systems and troubleshooting issues.
- Assist with the annual update of the People Handbook.
- Process invoices and book travel as needed.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.
- Apply curiosity and proactively seek to learn about Sony Music Entertainment (SME), the PX function, and the role PX and People Relations plays at SME.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience with an interest in an HR career path
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including effective listening
- Intermediate (at a minimum) knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Basic project management skills
- Positive attitude and the ability to be thoughtful, proactive, resourceful, flexible and exercise good judgement
- Detail oriented and excellent follow-through skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Client service/relationship skills with the capability to build and maintain effective relationships across the team and employees

Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 to 2 years as a HR Coordinator, ER coordinator or HR Assistant
- Knowledge of HR processes and data, and experience with HR systems
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to navigate complicated spreadsheets with a high degree of accuracy
- Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred
