Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Consulting, Senior Consultant in New York, New York and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally. Work You’ll Do Drive teams that perform reserve analyses, including Statements of Actuarial Opinion, pricing, mergers and acquisitions, financial modeling, economic capital modeling, enterprise risk management, new product development, strategic planning, pricing strategy development, target market assessments, competitive assessments of coverage and rating, and development of rating models and factors for new product development and product enhancements, profitability analysis, and audit support. Design and evaluate employee benefit programs with an emphasis on pension and post-retirement medical and insurance plans; determine the adequacy, funding requirements, and financial impact of these plans, and ensure compliance with government regulations and financial accounting standards. Provide insurance and retirement industry insight and analytical support using data mining, pattern matching, data visualization, and predictive modelling tools to produce analysis and algorithms that help businesses make better decisions, in accordance with IRS regulations. • 50% Travel required nationally • Telecommuting permitted • Work location includes various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally.Requirements Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field. Must have 2 years of related work experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Position requires 2 years of related work experience in each of the following: • Utilizing data mining, pattern matching, data visualization, and predictive modelling tools, using Tableau and Microsoft (MS) Excel to produce analysis and algorithms; • Analyzing the financial consequences of risk using advanced templates created in MS Word to study uncertain future events, especially those of concern to insurance and pension programs; • Identifying and recording key deadlines for the workstream in the engagement to ensure clear communication, organization, and coordination between multiple parties utilizing MS Office Suite and Jira to create a detailed timelines; • Searching and mining large data sets to discover meaningful patterns, trends and relationships to identify success measures and analysis; • Creating business case decision models and customer financial models and executing process mapping to optimize operational productivity, forecasting, and budgeting processes utilizing MS Excel; • Calculating deferred acquisition costs, unpaid claims liabilities, and benefit reserves for general liability and workers' compensation using calculators created on MS Excel; and • Conducting testing and validation of models using GGY AXIS and Prophet to ensure adequacy and reformulate models as necessary.
