Job Description

The Department of Population Health Science and Policy and the Division of Liver Disease at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is looking for a clinical research coordinator (CRC)/health educator interested in community outreach, engagement, health disparities, and health education. This position is focused on community outreach and education, focused on liver cancer screening efforts in at-risk communities. Overall, our work is focused on community outreach, engagement, education and navigation to enhance our understanding of disparities in cancer incidence and mortality. This CRC will work with others in our Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) group (see our website noted below for details).

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in science or related field preferred or a combination of relevant research experience and education

• 0-2 years of research/human subjects experience. Preferred in ethnic studies, psychology, sociology, related health and social service disciplines.

• Fluent in Russian

• Exceptional interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including a great sense of humor

• Have the ability to prioritize and multi task

• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel

• Be highly energetic and flexible

• Able to work as an integral team member

• Able to work evenings and weekends if necessary

Responsibilities

• Focus on immigrant communities and their needs related to liver cancer education, screening, and navigation.

• Requires knowledge of:

• Community-based participatory research

• Community engagement

• Program development

• Health systems

• Public health issues

• Health education planning and evaluation

• Responsibilities include:

• Community outreach and engagement

• Developing and delivering health education programs

• Navigating community members to health care

• Attending community events (e.g., educational programs)

• Some weekend and evening hours required.

Compensation Statement

Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $16.5 - $39.4984 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
