JOB PURPOSE
Oversee day-to-day clinical functioning of OASAS-certified, residential substance abuse program.
SCOPE OF INFLUENCE
Provide assessment, individual and group counseling, and other services as necessary to adults with substance use diagnoses (and their families/significant others)
Supervise clinical counseling staff and interns
Partner with referral sources, providing regular updates and progress on clients
Partner with multi-disciplinary team in assessing diagnoses, planning treatment, providing coverage of clients’ individual and group sessions, and offering clinical insight and expertise
Facilitate the integration of behavioral, clinical and ancillary counseling staff in the part 820 model of care
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Administration and Supervision: 75%
Provide clinical supervision, training and direction to assigned staff and Social Work interns for an 820 residential model
Participate in evaluation of assigned staff and interns
Co-lead regularly scheduled case conferences, weekly communication meetings, and other staff business meetings
Monitor attainment of goals and effectiveness of services and ensure that program productivity goals are reached
Crisis Intervention as required
Assure that social work staff and interns operate within their scope of expertise and practice
Participate in preparation of reports and records related to the activities and accomplishments of the program
Preserve and cultivate relationships with other programs within Educational Alliance and the larger community to benefit the program and our clients
Ensure delivery of high-quality services
Conduct chart audits and ensure all client record keeping is in compliance with agency, city, state, and federal requirements
Assist in the Continuing Quality Improvement process and active participation on the Performance Improvement Committee
Monitor and support Utilization Review and authorizations for treatment to ensure current clinical assessments and clinical services meet MCO standards for individualized care.
Clinical: 20%
May cover an assigned caseload of up to 10 cases in absence of a clinician
Provide clients with individual and group counseling in accordance with treatment plan
Facilitate and co-lead groups for clients
Ensure that clients’ annual medical examinations and psychiatric evaluations are completed
Other: 5%
Attend supervisory meetings, special agency staff meetings, and trainings
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Required Knowledge
LCSW, LMHC required
Minimum of 3 years of direct clinical supervision experience treating substance abuse disorder
Expertise in evidence-based practices
SIFI certification required
Ability to supervise and provide clinical guidance to staff and interns
Familiarity with regulations from OASAS and Medicaid
Ability to multitask and handle challenging situations in a professional and courteous manner
Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information
Willingness to work as part of a team
Must be organized, self-motivated, a team player, and computer literate
