Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm. This role involves project management and leadership for multiple land development projects, monitoring schedules and budgets, client-facing responsibilities, and preparing proposals. The successful candidate will oversee the development of land development projects, supervise staff in the design of engineering projects, provide mentorship, and coordinate permits for large-scale, complex projects.
Responsibilities:
Project management and leadership for multiple land development projects
Monitoring schedules and budgets to ensure effective completion of projects
Client-facing responsibilities
Preparing proposals for clients
Overseeing the development of land development projects
Supervising staff in the design of engineering projects (including roadways, drainage, water, wastewater, other utilities, and site development)
Providing mentorship to staff members
Overseeing review of applications before planning, zoning, and/or land-use boards
Overseeing and assisting with the preparation of design drawings, technical specifications, and engineering reports from design through construction
Coordinating permits for large-scale, complex projects
Top Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
8+ years of experience with infrastructure and municipal design projects
Experience with design and permitting activities
Experience with wet utility (water and/or wastewater) projects
Experience with water resources (such as stream and waterway restoration)
Proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD
Site layout development
Site design experience (grading, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and utility design)
Secondary Skills (Nice to Haves):
Project management
Civil design
HydroCAD
Permitting
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain one within 12 months of starting
Certified Municipal Engineer (CME) or Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM)

Work Environment:
Work on a variety of projects for municipalities, counties, and authorities, including subdivision and land development reviews, road rehabilitation, stormwater management (SWM), capital improvements, grant writing, and attendance at public meetings.
Initial office requirement: 5 days a week for the first couple of weeks to get settled.
Hybrid schedule after initial period: 1-2 days working remotely, remaining days in the office.
Office consists of 20-25 people, with a team of 5-6 site civil engineers.
Opportunity to work on a variety of public and private site development projects.
Client-facing role with great client exposure.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
