Description
We are looking to hire a Medical Assistant to assist in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. As the first clinical point-of-contact, the Medical Assistant will prepare the patient for the physician by performing some initial screenings and documenting of the patients past and present medical history. The Medical Assistant will also perform additional duties directed by the physician.
Requirements
Oversees the entire patient experience from check-in to checkout by welcoming patients in a friendly, professional manner and forming a trusting relationship
Obtain and record patient's chief complaints and information, data and record histories, vital signs, venipuncture, allergies, specimen collection, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration, and documents results in the patients chart within the scope of practice
Verifying patients past and current medical history for up-to-date charts and medical records including medication list and diagnosis
Screening patients for reason of visit, escort patient to exam room, monitor patient wait times, assist patient in preparing for exam and advises physician when patient is ready
Assisting in administrative duties such as answering telephones, scheduling appointments and filling out forms or paperwork related to patient and patient care
Draws blood from adult, pediatric and/or infant patients and processes specimens following established procedures and techniques
Maintaining a safe, secure, and clean work environment for staff and patients in compliance with the office’s quality control standards and procedures, and legal regulations
Collecting and preparing specimens for transport to testing labs and performing EKGs
Receives assignments, assembles supplies and equipment required to perform specimen collection according to established standards, policies, and procedures
Contributing to office growth, advancement, and success
Other duties as assigned
Proficiencies/Skills:
Certified in Phlebotomy and Electrocardiogram (EKG)
