Uber Business Development Manager, Supply Growth Partnerships in New York, New York

Uber is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive high-impact partnerships that expand opportunities for drivers, fleets, automakers, and other ecosystem partners. This role requires a unique blend of intellectual rigor and emotional awareness, as well as the maturity and strategic acumen to structure and execute complex, long-term deals that are core to Uber's business.

At the heart of this role is building strategy amid ambiguity, balancing big-picture thinking with tactical execution. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys creating structure where none exists, and operates independently while staying closely connected to a broad set of internal stakeholders. This includes senior executives and cross-functional teams, who will rally behind your deal strategies because they recognize your ability to drive partnerships that deliver sustainable value for Uber.

The Business Development team plays a key role in shaping partnerships across taxis, fleets, auto OEMs, vehicle financing, and EV/AV fleet solutions. This role will be responsible for executing complex and multifaceted deals while ensuring alignment across internal teams.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead complex, multifaceted deals with prospective partners across the fleet and vehicle value chain

  • Be a strategic thought partner to team members in different parts of the business, working closely with Ops and Product leadership to formulate strategy and identify how to drive impact through partnerships

  • Build consensus behind deal strategy and timely support for deal execution across diverse internal audiences, from senior executives to cross-functional stakeholders

  • Lead the development of long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with senior executives of current and prospective partners.

  • Define the right balance between near-term traction and securing value across a long time horizon

  • Refine deal strategy and deal frameworks through negotiation based on Uber goals, partner goals, and industry and partner situations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 6 years of demonstrated ability in business development, management consulting, private equity, general management and/or a combination thereof with exposure to the tech and mobility industry

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, venture capital, private equity

  • Exposure to large tech companies, automotive OEMs, advanced technologies

  • Experience building new business units or companies, working on projects with high degrees of ambiguity.

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to combine business, strategy, finance and legal concepts to lead complex, multi-faceted deals

  • Be able to work cross functionally with many other roles and stakeholders in the company

  • Exceptional communication skills, both within your team, with leadership, and with partners.

  • Strong interpersonal skills that allow you to build trust and navigate intense negotiations to secure Uber's interests with partners, and adeptly lead the cross-functional coordination (product, local operations, engineering, finance, legal) required to implement deals

  • High standards and a bias toward action. You can find the context and information you need through relationships across the organization, you push for clarity and delivery, and you hold a high bar from your contributions and those of the people you work with.

  • MBA preferred

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$167,000 per year - USD$185,500 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$167,000 per year - USD$185,500 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
