Responsibilities
The Business Development Leader sets, directs and leads business development for office in alignment with regional BD strategy. This role is responsible for developing office business/growth/revenue opportunities and ensuring Page brand visibility in local marketplace. The BD Director works closely with Office Leadership and Regional BD Director.
- Develop and maintain relationships with prospective clients and collaborators for all market sectors and practices areas in your local market
- Develop strategies for and participate in client and collaborator meetings with national market experts, regional seller-doers and office leadership
- Coordinate with seller-doers and client account managers to evolve and update the CRM pipeline and develop pursuit capture plans to convert leads to projects
- Collaborate in the preparation of materials for business development introductions and relationship building
- Maintain and develop a local network of proven reliable sources of information on current and prospective clients
- Direct research on leads to determine if they qualified and "winnable"
- Research clients and future pursuits (build pipeline)
- Research and understand geographic and market sector issues and trends in local market
- Understand local competitive differentiators and perspectives to better position Page against our competitors
- Work with office leadership, Region BD Director, and seller doers to develop and execute yearly business development plans focused on targeted sectors and clients (both existing and new) to achieve office sales goals
- Meet with Office leadership, Regional BD Director, Market Sector Experts, Office Seller Doers on a regular basis to develop sales goals, convert pipeline to projects and coordinate BD and seller doer activities including industry presence
- Work with Managing Directors and Market Sector Leaders to identify strategic hires/seller doers to achieve/advance sales goals
- Direct and track business development activities in CRM, create comprehensive reports that overview business development and marketing activities in the office including monthly pipeline reporting and win/loss hit rate ratios to determine corrective actions for future success
- Role of Business Development Leader during Go/No Go process
- Provide strategic input for Go/No Go process
- Collaborate with market sector experts and office leaders to ensure that a Go/No Go process is conducted for each pursuit and that the appropriate people participate
- Collaborate with market sector experts, office leaders, market sector managers, and pursuit teams to communicate BD/client intelligence into proposal and interview responses
- Advise on content decisions for proposals (team/consultants, projects) and review drafts at key milestones
- Participate in local debriefs. Document and disseminate to appropriate parties
- Position firm as a thought leader and problem solver to clients and influencers
- Communicate the Page story and understand key projects (national / regional / local) to speak knowledgeably of the firm, office, region, and sector capabilities including industry insights and best practices
- Develop and execute a strategy for Page's presence at local professional organizations, conferences and events
Qualifications
- Architecture degree or bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or business administration preferred
- Must have a minimum of 10 years of business development experience in the A/E/C industry with a measurable record of success is required.
- Proven track record in creating revenue through new market growth; developing effective client relationships; and providing pursuit leadership
- Must have excellent written and communication skills and the ability to independently manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Existing knowledge of Page market sectors in New York City metropolitan area is required
- Deltek Vision CRM and InDesign skills preferred
Base Compensation: $100,000 - $180,000
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skills and/or location)
