Make a bigger differencePURPOSE:This is a unique peer leadership opportunity for a resident to develop leadership and administrative skills that are beneficial to providing support and guidance to their own cohort. The Chief Social Work Resident (chief resident) will have a critical and important role in the Social Work Residency that would help lead quality improvements in the residency program.The Jewish Board's Community Behavioral Health treatment programs provide compassionate, high quality, evidence-based services to individuals and families in the communities we serve. Our staff use a culturally competent, person centered approach to help individuals and their families develop skills and resources to improve overall functioning, to instill hope, and to strengthen resiliency. Our programs work closely with community partners to address health disparities in our neighborhoods while also celebrating the strengths and resilience of our communities.POSITION OVERVIEW:In addition to the general responsibilities of a Behavioral Health Clinician, the Chief Social Work Resident (chief resident) will serve as a leader and liaison between residents and JB leadership. Becoming a Chief Resident offers valuable experience that is essential for future leadership roles. The Clinics offer the following services include, but not limited to: child, teen, adult, and family psychotherapy, emotional crisis intervention and stabilization, developing coping skills to manage mental health symptoms, addiction recovery, forging healthy relationships, managing sadness, worry and loss. The Chief Resident can support junior residents navigate challenges KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Demonstrate emerging leadership skills, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment within the Residency and The Jewish Board. Chief residents help with the orientation and integration of new residents into the program. Manage various administrative tasks, including organizing, leading and participating in Residency programming. Actively involved in the residency application/interview process. Oversee the peer mentorship implementation for second year residents; providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality and effective learning experiences. Chief residents provide guidance and support to junior residents, helping them navigate the challenges of residency. Work in collaboration with the Learning Department to teach and train residents in various foundational training to enhance the learning experience. Serve as an advocate for their peers and the Residency; both internally and externally, including speaking engagements and community outreach and relations on behalf of the Residency and TJB. They participate in the recruitment process for new residents, including participating in interviews and evaluating candidates.
