BlackRock Financial Management, Inc. is hiring a(n) Associate, Investment Strategy & Research (ref. Code R250876 in New York, NY).Duties: Coordinate, prepare, and conduct operational due diligence reviews on existing and potential hedge fund investments, including evaluations of hedge fund internal controls, operational support structure/personnel, trade processing environment, regulatory environment, compliance program, legal documentation, cash management procedures, valuation practices, NAV production, service providers, information technology (IT) and cybersecurity. Evaluate the hedge fund’s organizational structure, key personnel, control environment, policies and procedures, third-party service providers, and technology. Perform assessments on new investment opportunities, ongoing monitoring of existing investments and meeting with experts across the industry, including C-suite and senior members of external hedge fund and service provider organizations. Perform operational assessments and present findings to the Investment Committee. Identify and deliver recommendations to external hedge fund managers. Organize and lead meetings with hedge fund C- suite executives (e.g. COO, CFO) and other senior management personnel. Conduct reviews of key hedge fund service providers such as fund administrators, third party valuation agents, compliance and IT consultants, prime brokers, etc. Build a comprehensive understanding of the hedge fund and broader alternative investment industry by participating in events. Negotiate legal and commercial terms and outcomes for clients. Lead technology initiatives for the group via automation and reporting enhancements. Lead and monitor 1000+ counterparty risks and relationships that investment platform is exposed to, identifying signals of counterparty credit degradation and instability. Partner with internal BlackRock departments such as Data Solutions and Client Services to various client requests and deliverables. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematics, or related field. 24 months of experience in Job offered or related occupation. Requires 24 months of experience in each of the following: 1.Analyzing audited financial statements to extract value-additive details and summarize analyses in the form of presentable exhibits using Microsoft and Adobe software;2. Leveraging existing databases, including publicly available sources as well as proprietary records, to create analyzable and consumable products;3. Utilizing programming languages, including Python, SQL, SAS, and/or R to automate elements of ongoing analyses or reports;4. Contributing to the sharing of knowledge and expertise internally, as well as externally to clients and business partners, by drafting memos, summary statistics, and structured data; and5. Representing the firm in front of clients and business partners. Minimum Salary: 158100 Maximum Salary: 210000 Salary Unit: Yearly
