Markets Treasury (MKTY) sits at the heart of HSBC and acts as the Street-facing arm of the Treasury function (which responsible for setting the risk limits and strategy in respect of HSBC’s balance sheet). Markets Treasury’s priorities are:
Manage HSBC’s cash, liquidity and funding for 45 sites globally
Manage HSBC’s overall High Quality Liquid Assets (HQLA)
Manage HSBC’s short-term funding requirements
Manage HSBC’s interest rate positions of the banking book
Generate stable (and significant) revenues by optimizing return on interest rates and HQLA
The Markets Treasury function is seeking an Associate level Business Manager based in New York to support the execution of strategic projects and manage the day-to-day operations of the AMRS region covering the US, Brazil, Mexico, Chile and Uruguay. Specific duties include:
Partner with the portfolio and funding teams of Markets Treasury to support the delivery of overall business objectives as set out in the annual Global Performance Scorecard
Act as a key point of contact for control and operational matters for Markets Treasury
Deliver priority projects (strategic, regulatory, IT, transformative, etc) and engaging with the wider stakeholder community in the execution and implementation of plans
Ensure effective governance structures, processes and controls are in place and meet the HSBC Group standards
Ensure Markets Treasury operates in line with agreed risk appetite limits (e.g. in relation to interest rate risk, liquidity risk, funding risk) and in full compliance with all HSBC Group and regulatory requirements
Co-ordinate the investigation, escalation and remediation of any operating incidents as well as apprising the Markets Treasury leadership team of relevant developments as appropriate
Support general business management tasks such a overseeing market data subscriptions, managing travel and entertainment spend, maintaining business continuity plans, maintaining desk procedures, process purchase orders, process invoices, create Service NOW requests, initiate and follow-up on trade booking requests, etc.
For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $125,000.00 and $150,000.00
The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Qualifications
You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:
3 years’ experience in a function demonstrating the ability to synthesise detailed information to execute to business needs e.g. Legal and Compliance, Enterprise Risk, Financial Planning and Reporting, Business Controls
Has a ‘run to the fire’ mentality and has the ability to exercise judgement where the full suite of information is not available
Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to bring stakeholders along the journey to drive projects to completion
Able to solve problems; prioritize tasks; and collaborate as part of a global team across multiple timezones, when appropriate
Degree level education with keen thirst for knowledge and desire to gain deeper markets knowledge
