Job Duties: Associate, Banker - Industry/Country Coverage with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York. Conduct financial analysis and advise companies and their boards of directors on the impact of acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, leveraged buyouts, spin-offs, split-offs, Reverse Morris Trusts, shareholder activism, and debt, equity, and other capital issuances, including initial public offerings, and other complex transactions (including cross-border) generally in excess of $1.0bn. Serve as day-to-day client contact and create and deliver presentations. Create and analyze financial models and perform scenario analyses to examine the effects of proposed client alternatives. Use financial models and statistical techniques to analyze financials and data and prepare presentations, charts and tables summarizing analyses and recommendations. Develop ideas and proposals for clients’ future strategic actions, and corporate strategy, create and pitch presentations to prospective clients. Build and maintain existing relationships in the Industrial sector, with business travel throughout the U.S. and internationally. Work closely and develop relationships with senior client executives (CEO, CFO, COO, Head of Business Development) and other members of the management team as well as senior legal professionals and other advisory professionals. Work with industry coverage and M&A groups, interact and coordinate with both clients and other groups within the Firm, including Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Legal and Compliance divisions. Lead, mentor and train multiple teams of associates and analysts while coordinating closely with internal and external senior team and executives. Approximately 20% of domestic and international travel required for client marketing meetings and live deal execution. All travel expenses paid by the firm.Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Employer will accept bachelor's degree equivalent based on single degree, combination of degrees, or combination of degree(s) and professional work experience, where determined to be equivalent to U.S. bachelor's degree by a qualified credential evaluation service. Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related investment banking classic coverage position. Prior experience must include two (2) years with: facilitating the execution of investment banking transactions including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, leveraged buyouts, take privates, spin-offs, split-offs, Reverse Morris Trusts, shareholder activism, and debt, equity, and other capital issuances, including initial public offerings, and other complex transactions (including cross-border) generally exceeding $1.0bn; conferring with lawyers, consultants, accountants, and other advisors to facilitate investment banking transactions; utilizing corporate finance concepts and accounting standards to perform valuation analyses, including discounted cash flow analysis, leveraged buyout analysis, accretion and dilution and ability-to-pay analysis, public trading comparables, precedent transactions, and sum-of-the-parts analysis; executing detailed analysis of the pro forma impact of debt, equity, and other capital issuances (and resulting impact on credit ratings), mergers, spin-offs, split-offs, Reverse Morris Trusts, divestitures, and changes in capital allocation policies including dividend and share repurchases; performing extensive financial and business due diligence, including but not limited to interviewing senior management, examining production sites, reviewing strategic operating plans and analyzing historical and projected financial performance; creating and presenting client presentation materials and other documentation (including management presentations and information memoranda) for senior management teams throughout the deal lifecycle: idea generation, pitch and execution; and coordinating with teams of associates and analysts and coordinating with product experts (such as debt and equity financing groups and M&A structuring groups) in an investment banking setting.Salary Range: Annual base salary for this New York, New York -based position is $175,000/year - $250,000/year.
