Global Treasury, a segment of the American Express Finance group, is responsible for managing a balance sheet that provides a competitive advantage for the company. This includes managing liquidity and capital to support our business; delivering cost-effective, diverse, and resilient funding; and identifying, measuring, and addressing financial and operational risks.

Global Treasury Operations, a segment of Global Treasury, ensures Amex has the right amount of money, at the right time, in the right place, in the appropriate currency to fulfill its financial obligations when they become due. The Global Cash Flow Forecasting and Intraday team is responsible for forecasting and monitoring Amex’s cash flows, utilizing best in class tools in a well-controlled manner.

The Analyst – Global Treasury Operations- Cash Flow Forecasting/Intraday Governance and Capabilities will:

  • Partner with American Express Technologies and Global Treasury teams to develop and test enhanced cash flow forecasting capabilities

  • Provide support in developing Committee and senior management presentations related to Amex’s cash flow forecasting and intraday cash flows

  • Support maintaining frameworks for cash flow forecasting and intraday cash flow management, ensuring they reflect the Company’s latest strategies and technology

  • Prepare analyses that enhance Amex’s cash flow monitoring thresholds

  • Collaborate with Treasury teams to ensure cash flow forecasting and intraday risks are well defined and controls are well documented and tested for effectiveness

  • Assist the broader Global Treasury Cash Flow Forecasting and Intraday Team in responding to oversight groups and regulatory requests

How will you make an impact in this role?

The Analyst will play a key role in continuing to successfully develop best-in-class cash flow forecasting and intraday reporting processes that support the Company’s needs as the business and balance sheet continue to grow. As an Analyst on our Global Treasury Operations organization, you will be a part of a collaborative team, shaping our reporting that provides risk management value for the Company.

Essential Skills:

  • We are seeking a fast learner with a proven track record of delivering quickly on multiple initiatives

  • A professional with strong financial acumen, an ability to drive insights through strong analytics

  • A self-starter who is intellectually curious and pays attention to the details

  • The ideal candidate will have strong documentation and analytical skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 1-2 years of Treasury or financial experience preferred

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, operate effectively within large cross-functional teams and influence business partners to drive transformational change

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, drive projects, improve processes, prepare insightful analytics and work well under time-pressured deadlines

  • Highly proficient in MS PowerPoint and Excel (experience with data analytic and visualization tools a plus)

  • Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills

Preferred Additional Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business or Finance

  • MBA a plus

  • CTP a plus

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually bonus benefits
