Adecco Health & Life Sciences is seeking a Veterinary Technician for a 6–12-month contract in Bronx, NY . This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in animal care, research settings, and veterinary medical support.

Position Overview:

As a Veterinary Technician, you will support the Veterinary Medical Unit (VMU) under the guidance of veterinary professionals. Responsibilities include handling animals, performing cage changes, operating cage wash systems, monitoring sanitation, evaluating sick animals, and administering medications.

Schedule & Pay:

Shift: 8-hour shifts (+ 30-minute break)

Hours : Up to 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday (weekends & holidays as needed)

Pay Rate: $28.00 - $32.00/hr ( based on experience, education, and location )

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform animal husbandry, including feeding, cage cleaning, and handling.

• Administer medications orally, subcutaneously, or via injection.

• Operate animal research equipment such as ventilated housing units, cage washing systems, autoclaves, and environmental monitoring systems.

• Maintain animal census records and ensure compliance with federal regulations.

• Assist in disease and health surveillance programs by collecting biological samples and monitoring animal health.

• Coordinate daily health checks, post-surgical care, and treatment plans.

• Schedule and coordinate the use of animal procedure rooms for research activities.

Qualifications:

• Assistant Technician certification by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS).

• Eligible for or completed Technician-level certification.

• 1-2 years’ experience in animal husbandry within a research setting.

• COVID-19 vaccination required.

• Required Immunizations: MMR, Varicella, HepB, Tdap, & TB .
