CAMBA PT Data Analyst, The Brooklyn YAS (Youth against Substance Misuse) (NaviGAYte Brooklyn) in Brooklyn, New York

We reach more than 65,000 individuals and families each year at our 90 locations, including 10,000 youth. CAMBA serves a diverse cross section of New Yorkers from new mothers in Brownsville to job seekers in the Rockaways. More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe. Over 85% of our families are in living in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today.

The Brooklyn YAS (Youth against Substance Misuse) Coalition is committed to creating community-level change that will reduce risk factors and promote protective factors that prevent substance misuse among lesbian, gay, and bisexual, (LGB+) and other youth in the neighborhoods of Crown Heights, Flatbush, East Flatbush, East New York, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Williamsburg, and Bushwick. The coalition will represent of a diverse array of members from different sectors that are invested in preventing or delaying substance use initiation among LGB+ and other youth.

NaviGAYte Brooklyn provides substance misuse and HIV/hepatitis prevention navigation services to men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender/gender nonconforming (TGNC) individuals of color who have sex with men, ages 13 and above, in Brooklyn communities most impacted by the HIV epidemic. These include Bedford-Stuyvesant, Crown Heights, East New York, and Flatbush/East Flatbush. Staff conduct in-person and online outreach through dating apps/hook up sites to recruit clients into a multi-pronged intervention consisting of: sexual health, hepatitis, and substance misuse screening; brief interventions and education sessions; linkage to biomedical and behavioral interventions; and supportive services. The program also uses social media campaigns to promote awareness of mental health issues; risk reduction strategies; substance use, hepatitis, and HIV prevention options; and anti-stigma messaging.

Position: PT Data Analyst

Reports To: Vice President

Location: 1259 Flatbush Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11226

What The PT Data Analyst Does:

  • Maintain all agency-related documentation, including documentation of social media activities and metrics.

  • Analyze community needs and capacity assessment findings and synthesize into report as required.

  • Design and implement continuous quality improvement projects.

  • Design and implement both process and outcome evaluation projects.

  • Evaluate the implementation of the Strategic Prevention Framework.

  • Liaise with diverse sectors of the community to expand in conducting formative research.

  • Coordinate trainings/presentations regarding evaluation for coalition members and/or the community.

  • Write up results of community assessments.

  • Practice Universal Precautions/Standard Protocol & Procedures.

  • Comply with any and all Federal, State, City and CAMBA security and privacy polices intended to protect the security and privacy of individually identifiable health information.

  • Communicate effectively with coalition members, supervisors, and funders.

  • Manage own time effectively.

  • Participate in administrative and staff meetings as requested.

  • May have program responsibilities in addition to the above.

     Minimum Education/Experience Required:

  • BA/BS Degree; Master’s degree preferred

  • Experience with evaluation of evidence-based programs

  • Experience conducting quality assurance activities

  • Knowledge of formative research technique

     Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge about, understanding of, and ability to work closely with diverse communities.

  • Strategic and tactical thinker with creative problem-solving skills

  •  Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel.

    Compensation: $31,000 annually

Status: Part-time (20 hours per week)
