Children's Aid Social Worker (Adoption Recruitment) in Bronx, New York

Position Summary: This recruitment social worker will use the Wendys Wonderful Kids Child Focused Recruitment Model to provide adoption recruitment for a caseload of 12 to 15 active recruitment cases and monitoring and tracking for up to 10 more children and youth in need of adoptive families. Training and role development will be provided through the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption which will also provide database tracking and evaluation of the Child Focused Recruitment Model and its implementation at Childrens Aid. Job responsibilities for the recruitment social worker will include:

Essential Duties:

Understand and promote the organizations Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures. Fully implement the Child Focused Recruitment Model (CFR Model) at Childrens Aid. Conduct in-depth case reviews of children identified for recruitment in the Model. Meet face to face at least monthly with all active children on caseload. Assess adoption readiness of children and develop preparation plans to assure children are ready for inclusion in adoption recruitment and adoption as required by the model. Create and update an adoption recruitment plan for each child in active status on the caseload. Build and maintain networks of people close to and knowledgeable about children to facilitate recruitment activities. Complete diligent searches to identify potential resources for each childs adoption. Adhere to the Marketing and Communications Style Guide provided by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and work with Childrens Aid Communications Department to assure agency materials adhere to this style guide as well. Participate in individual and group supervision, agency staff meetings, training and planning sessions as appropriate. Participate in Annual Wendys Wonderful Kids Summit in Columbus, Ohio and NYC Convenings as they are scheduled. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Social Work required with experience in the adoption field. Key Competencies:

Commitment to adoption for all children on caseload. Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus. Excellent writing, communication and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and meet targets. Computer and Internet literate.
